The game is great! Brings what made the old great and makes it better. The nostalgia is there and the action and voice acting is great. It really brings this legend of a game to the next generation to keep it alive for the future.
game ran fine for me, trash take on the original story brought to you by a bunch of woke blue hairs

I have bought every halo on the night of its release, since the days of having to wait outside gamestop, I have read most of the books and have an entire wall dedicated to the series. Needless to say, I have thousands of hours into playing the games. I type all of this this to let the reader know that I am and have been a die hard fan since I was a kid. There's alot of controversy surrounding Halo: Campaign Evolved. Here's my take, if you are an actual fan and just want to enjoy a more modern take on the original game. Buy it. Some of the cutscenes aren't the same, but the graphics are gorgeous. Yes, your nostalgia will trigger and you'll miss the voice actors from our youth. It doesn't have multiplayer, something I hope they'll remedy in the future. BUT, quite honestly, its not bad. Most of the negative comments are fueled by people who can't let go of the nostalgia. Its not the same as the original and NOTHING will ever be the same. I am just grateful I can relive the story again. The bonus missions are solid. Having to fight different mobs (some from later games in the series) is awesome. The skull hunting has been fun and I encourage you to do it without guides. If you want to replay the original game to its fullest, play the master chief collection. If you would like a new spin on the original, play this. The hate being thrown at this game (like the TV show) is why we don't get anything new for this amazing story. Lastly: Use a controller, Halo was always meant to be a controller game. The keyboard and mouse do suck (that part of the reviews are accurate), but then again... why aren't you playing with a controller to begin with? :D
Absolutely is overhated for the most part. Does a lot right and does a lot wrong. Feels okay-ish mechanically, mouse movement is odd. Does not run the best but typical unreal engine 5 game I guess. I won't echo what many others have said as I have a lot of the same gripes and I believe this franchise needs handled by a different studio and management. However, despite negatives, I got to experience my childhood with fresh paint and got my dad and I playing Halo together again after 14 years. That alone deserves a positive review. I have enjoyed my time with this game.
Fun game but FIX THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ KEYBIND CUSTOMIZATION. Every time I load the game it resets my custom keybinds back to defaults.
9/10 overall. The game just feels good playing (after the day 1 patches). I do wish they kept some of the smaller cutscenes, like when the squad is using the grav lift to get into the Covenant ship, and when lighting the first lightbridge. I do wish that instead of focusing on character skins in a first-person shooter, that they added more weapon skins instead, and just added a color wheel for characters in co-op.
