beter than the demo by a lot
It's one of the best games ever, imo. There isn't a great deal of content, in all honesty. If it was another game, I doubt I would have played more than 10-15 hours of it, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ addictive. I played the original demo, the playtest, and now EA. I probably have around 200+ hours on the game in total, and istg most of it is just me doing the same thing over and over again, and for one simple reason: fighting is so much fun. The game is completely physics-based, and you control the character's weapon by holding LMB and moving your mouse. It is not an easy game to get the hang-of by any measure, but it's also not really that hard once you get used to it. When you understand the foundations of the combat system, and you get some familiarity with the additional mechanics, weapons, etc., the game is more just about practice, and even then, usually a great deal of luck lmao. Half-Sword is completely unhinged, tbh. It allows you to be an honourable knight, showing mercy, and sparing death, to those you defeat in battle, but on the other hand, it also allows you to unleash the most sadistic parts of yourself. You will feel shame when you look in the mirror, but that's probably a good sign for you as a person, on the whole. The game features anatomically correct bodies (mostly - no peens to slice ;-; ), including organs, muscles, and skeleton. Not only that, but Half-Sword is so dedicated to creating their ultra-realistic HEMA-based fighting game that they made sure to code anatomically correct cutting, bruising, snapping, and breaking. Wherever you cut with a sword will be wherever you draw blood, or sever parts, from. If you hit an artery, blood literally spurts everywhere, coating you, your victim, and the floor. Wherever you hit with a mace will bruise and fracture. Enough damage can cause joints to snap, and even bones to break. On top of these real-life components, there is screaming, and lots of it. Screaming, begging, death gurgling... it's all part of the hand-crafted experience. You can even choke someone to death with your bare hands whilst they attempt to kick and punch you in your grip, trying, with their dying breath, to stop you before their muscles tire, and their bodies' weaken. You can watch the life seep from their eyes as you tighten your grip. The point is, this game makes you realise that swords are fun. Everyone should buy a sword and start playing IRL Half-Sword. (in all seriousness, this game is stupid, fun, very replayable, and, yes, buggy, but - often - in a fun way.) Big-time buy!
real game !
С каждым обновлением игра становиться лучше, есть проблемы с производительностью на локациях с растительностью, но фехтование на уровне и в целом у игры больше плюсов чем минусом
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ game, adding zombies was the most idiotic thing they could ever do, the demo remains the better choice ♥♥♥♥ this game and ♥♥♥♥ the developers
SHOCKING GAME YOU GET TO A LEVEL WHERE YOU CAN GET KNOCKED OUT INTANTLY WITH SAME EVERTHING AS THE PERSON YOUR FIGHTING BUT THEY MAKE IT SO YOU CANT WIN JOKE OF A GAME TBH
its ♥♥♥♥ and the abyss is impossible is the enemies have armor its also crashing at the worst moments its genuine trash and costs 25$ which is bs. When the enemies start getting strong armor its genuinely impossible to have any fun with a sword and cutting enemies its just 5 minute fights where you get knocked out by falling over by nothing and then you got to do it all over again
This game is genuinely abysmal with how buggy it is. Alright, I just got the game! Oh, er, looks like weapons phase into me a bit... No problem, I can live with that if it only happens once in a blue moon. ...Hooray, man-at-arms! I'll play tomorrow to get to Knight. Fast forward to the next day, I get frequent crashes after reaching Knight. Unfortunate, it looks like I have to turn off blood to avoid the crashes. At least it isn't unfixable... And then the great flinging of September 8th, 2026 happens. Every time I try and get the baron rank, I keep getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ flung OUT OF THE MAP, which instantly kills me. Oh, there goes my full armor set and beloved weapon... hooray. I just straight up give up with how horrible doing the abyss is (you go to the abyss after your character dies to give you one more shot to save it. Down there are all zombies of the people you killed, which if they bite you, you might as well just restart given that they knock you down and all pile on you). The best part is that there's an in-game currency, right? If you experience any bugs that harm your character significantly, you have to PAY WITH YOUR OWN MONEY just to heal your character. Which makes you run out of coins fast. I loved the demo, and I had fun even when unlocking Baron in there. This makes me feel the same level of hate AM has due to how clunky everything is. It matters not if I win, I am still pissed off.
Enemies regularly glitch their weapons through your armor and either kill you instantly or damage you so much that you just have to give up. Even worse is their AI. They constantly sprint into you regardless of the weapon they are using. Sharp weapons get stuck in wood when hit hard enough (at least thats what should be happening). In reality sharp weapons like swords esp. greatswords get stuck just by lightly touching any wooden surface which makes the previously best map Hall (imo) unplayable with these kind of weapons. And the game crashes often when entering/leaving a fight or sometimes when you hit an enemy hard enough. Can't recommend. Maybe in a few months or years.
