It's a great little adventure. What it lacks in atmosphere and charm, like the Black Mesa facility in Half Life 1, it makes up in sheer variety and content. You could tell they learned a lot from their time with Half Life 1. It's not perfect, though. It strangely has a base game and then calls its add-ons Episodes 1-2. It also has a problem with constant NPC body blocking, mostly in the base game, and the antlion section in the base game is rather obnoxious (sans the ability to control them that was cool). Immensely weird that they've left off on the cliffhanger for decades but well... time will tell. Watch them have a "We Learned how to Count to 3" event where they showcase all their titles they left at entry 2.
