Gundemonium Recollection

You may not like it, but this is what peak shmup looks like. Unfortunately this game is no longer directly available on steam but it is still available on various product key websites.

A bullet hell with anime characters and enemies. Story is non-sensical. Information on pre-level screens seems pretty shallow and not related to previous levels. Music is superb, go listen to it on youtube. Difficulty is pretty hard. Actually, if you use the default character it is very difficult, since the second one is better suited for the final boss. And I am talking about novice level. Some bullet patterns require you to position yourself previously and if you don't do this, you will mess up. Destroying enemies usually gets rid of their bullets, but I think more bullet dodging would have been better. There is a lot of times when you will meet your death at a dead end or will need a bomb to get out of there (a possibility to dodge is better than this). Maybe some more game modes could had been interesting, since one you beat this kind of games you are pretty much done with them.

This games feel so fresh, even though it's not recent. It's super fast paced, controls are tight tight tight. The music is awesome and sounds like a festival. The level design is also quite creative and original. I really like this series, but this is my favorite.
