Note: Dead PvP game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There's no viably populated servers/active player population. This game cannot be played as intended.
This comes across as a low key asset flip. The most likely explanation for this is when someone who isn't a professional game developer tries to shortcut the process by using a pile of pre-made assets. Without the talent to actually design a game, they just push this kind of junk as fast as they can onto Steam Direct, resulting in a product that doesn't hold much at all in terms of quality or interest. At best this is a lame tech demo to see if one can get ones Unreal project to build... it's seriously nothing, stock assets and placeholder textures on low poly backdrops, dropped on Unity's FPS arena game blueprint and rushed onto Steam Direct. Most of the work went into plugging in a grappling gun mechanic. This is why Valve needs to consider basic QA for Steam Direct. So, the game might look better than you'd expect from an amateur project, but this is because it's partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Very little in this game is truly the creation of the "developer", it's just a bunch of rearranged assets. While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset flips is that when developers aren't capable of doing their job and creating high quality assets, we quickly find they can't do any of the rest of the job of a game developer either. That's definitely true for "Grappling Gunners: Arena FPS". The technical execution of this game is shallow and simplistic, just enough to tick the boxes required to get something (anything) published on Steam, rather than investing the huge amount of effort and budget needed to create a fully fledged, comprehensive, high quality product. This feels like a tech demo more than a full game. Now onto pricing and value. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Even as a free game, this couldn't find an audience. With a peak of only 4 players, it's clear the Steam community took one look and walked away. They literally couldn't pay people to spend time playing this. All other issues aside (any of which would disqualify this from being worth your time), this is a game that relies on other players for it to be viable, and because there's not enough players, it's not viable. I can't recommend anyone downloads this, it's basically dead.
i love the game the guy who made this is going places but theres one issue i dont know if its just me but i got 0 ping a good gpu but the game lags when i shoot to many targets but all in all i give this game a 10 outa 10
Positive: 🔥 Grappling Gunners: Arena FPS is a fast-paced multiplayer shooter with smooth mobility mechanics — your grappling hooks and movement skills make combat feel dynamic and unique. ⚔️ Seven distinct skills like teleportation and bullet time add variety to PvP battles and give players meaningful options in engagements. 🎯 Focused on quick matches, it’s easy to jump in and start playing without long downtime or complicated menus. Negative: 🔁 Core gameplay can feel repetitive after several matches — the modes and objectives don’t evolve much beyond basic brawls. ⚙️ Limited single-player content and reliance on multiplayer encounters means matchmaking quality and player activity can strongly affect your experience. 🏆 Completionists & Achievement Hunters: The game includes 3 Steam achievements that reward specific actions like using dual grappling shots, reaching high speed, and entering special range areas. ⏱️ Efficient players who know where to go and what actions trigger the achievements can unlock everything in about ≈5–15 minutes, while players who take their time learning movement, exploring extra areas, and playing proper matches may take around ≈15–30 minutes to complete everything. Overall: Grappling Gunners: Arena FPS delivers a fun, agility-focused PvP shooter experience with lively combat and a small set of achievement goals. Its simplicity and speed make it best for short sessions and quick completion runs.
