Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition

I have mixed feelings about this game; considering its age, I can imagine it was the pinnacle of technical and narrative achievement back then, I get that but it feels odd; it was just an amazing product of its time. A common argument is that GTA IV is the most "realistic," but many people have a very distorted concept of realism. The gameplay is strange in many ways a result of its age but driving in this game is infuriating; San Andreas had a better driving and interaction system, even though it was older. The color palette is so depressing it’s actually painful to look at If it weren't a GTA game, I’m sure the vast majority of people wouldn't put it on such a pedestal. It’s not a bad game, but it’s not the masterpiece people make it out to be. It is entertaining and has some great details the world feels truly alive; I even saw people tossing trash out of their cars while driving, people loading luggage by the roadside, and so many other little things. It’s impressive for its age, but aside from that... meh
