I find the game enjoyable. I like that progression is connected to decorating, since I like doing it in games but usually it's (gameplay-wise) a complete waste of resources. Though it would be nice to be able to lock objects in place, since it's easy to knock them around accidentaly. Ask me how I know... I also like that you can still do things and contribute if your body is destroyed in the dungeon. I think it's worth the money, at least I had a lot of fun playing with my friend. However, I agree with other reviews that it should absolutely be marked as early access. The story ends abruptly and there is a third floor blocked off with no resolution. It could also be nice to be able to unlock more new abilites and tools, like the upgrading machine. I am currently letting it rest while waiting for updates. Also, I feel like the name of "grain rot" will just date the game very quickly when the meme dies. It is kind of funny that your emotes change, but most of them are already stale...

Played this with friends and let me tell you, I'm not a fan of horror games but this game was actually really fun. I mean, I caught on fire, got drop kicked many times, screamed when going around a corner to see a laser eye enemy, and enjoyed being a shiny glowing spark when my robot body was sadly deceased. What can I say but a really fun game to play with friends and share some laughs!

The framing around the game is great. Cool universe, and multiplayer handles great. I like that players can stay behind in the house while others take the elevator down. Great for if someone needs to go AFK. Getting in and out of matches is very smooth and seamless. I like that dead players are given a chance to revive themselves. A lot of quality of life improvements on REPO. But... the core gameplay loop does not feel good. Extremely repetitive. Sprinting around catacombs and grabbing one item at a time and trying to extract before the omniscient enemies target you indefinitely is not fun nor interesting. There's a very fine line between annoying and challenging, but Grain Rot hasn't found that balance yet.

My friends and I really enjoy this game, especially the graphics and overall atmosphere. It has some similarities to REPO, but we actually think Grainrot is even better! There are a few things we think could be improved. First, the in-game voice chat can be difficult to hear at times. It would be great to have individual player volume controls so we could turn specific players up or down. We would also love to see more cosmetic options for the building. More colour choices, different furniture styles, chandeliers, decorations, and other customization options would be awesome. More content would also be great. We really enjoyed the game, but we completed it fairly quickly. Expanding the story and adding more things to discover would give us even more reason to keep playing. Having an option to play with up to 6 players would also be a lot of fun, especially for groups with more friends. Finally, I think weapon repairs could be improved. Weapons seem to fall apart pretty easily, so having repairs be more affordable and/or last longer would be a nice quality-of-life improvement. Also being able to upgrade the bed for faster health regen would be awesome! Overall, we really love the game and had a great time playing it. We would definitely love to see more content, customization, and multiplayer options added in the future!
I went into this game expecting another "play it with friends, scream, uninstall" type of game, but it's honestly way deeper than I expected. It still has all the dumb friendslop stuff you want obviously. But there's an actual game underneath all of that. The Outpost/base building is probably my favorite part. A lot of these co-op games have a lobby that is basically just a menu you can walk around in. Here, the stuff you bring back actually rebiulds the place. So even a run where nothing especially crazy happens still feels like it moved something forward The game feels like an elevated version of the genre, with actual progression and base-building. Comedy comes from the game, and not just relying entirely on "physics = funny" This is an easy recommendation to friends
This game is INCREDIBLE, it takes the standard friendslop formula and actually builds on it. From the standard extraction loop, to Creative building, into open world exploration and MORE. It has the funny moments and general stupidity you want from a game like this, but there’s also variety which just makes you want to keep coming back. Honestly, I think similar games should be looking at Grain Rot as a basis for what a good friendslop game can actually be. It doesn’t just rely on funny moments with friends, (which is fun in itself) but also gives you an actual game to play at the same time, The VA and Art Style of the game is also really visually pleasing. It definitely still needs more updates and content, but I assume like most games in this genre, that’ll just come with time, and I can see this game getting better and better as it gets more. Overall, This game deserves the love its getting, and I really hope the updates keep rolling considering the patches so far have been quick and amazing.
