Gladiator Guild Manager: Prologue from Entertainment Forge presents a focused and cleverly designed slice of a management-driven strategy game that revolves around preparation, roster building, and the careful orchestration of automated battles. Rather than putting players in direct control of combat, it shifts attention to the decisions made before a fight begins, framing success as the result of planning, synergy, and resource management. Even as a limited preview, it establishes a clear identity and a satisfying gameplay loop that emphasizes thinking ahead rather than reacting in the moment. The core experience centers on building and maintaining a guild of gladiators, each with distinct roles, abilities, and combat behaviors. You recruit fighters from a rotating market, equip them with weapons and armor, and assemble teams suited to specific encounters. This system encourages players to think in terms of composition rather than individual strength, as success often depends on how well units complement one another. Frontline fighters must absorb damage effectively, ranged units need protection to maximize their output, and support characters can make the difference between victory and defeat. The addition of equipment and upgrades further deepens this layer, allowing you to fine-tune your team and adapt to new challenges as they arise. Combat itself unfolds automatically once preparations are complete, which gives the game a distinct rhythm. Instead of issuing commands during battle, you watch your strategy play out, learning from both successes and failures. This design can feel passive at first, particularly for players used to hands-on tactical control, but it gradually reveals a different kind of engagement. The tension comes from anticipation—whether your positioning was correct, whether your composition can handle the enemy lineup, and whether your investments in equipment will pay off. Each battle becomes a test of your foresight, and when things go wrong, it often feels like a puzzle to be solved rather than a failure of execution. Progression is driven by a steady expansion of options and increasing complexity. As you advance, new gladiators, items, and challenges become available, pushing you to refine your strategies and experiment with different approaches. The dynamic nature of the recruitment system prevents the experience from becoming too predictable, as you must adapt to what is available rather than relying on a fixed roster. There is a strong sense of growth as your guild evolves from a small, fragile team into a more capable and specialized force, and this progression is one of the game’s most satisfying elements. Visually, the game strikes a balance between clarity and charm. Its stylized presentation makes it easy to read the battlefield, with distinct character designs and smooth animations that help convey what is happening during combat. This is particularly important in an auto-battler format, where visual feedback serves as the primary way of understanding how your decisions are performing. The interface is clean and intuitive, allowing you to focus on strategy without being bogged down by unnecessary complexity. However, as a prologue, the game’s limitations become increasingly apparent over time. While the core systems are well-designed, the amount of content is relatively limited, and repetition begins to set in after several runs. The management side, while engaging, lacks some of the depth that would make long-term play more compelling, such as more intricate economic systems or broader guild customization. The absence of additional modes or extended progression also reinforces the sense that this is only an introduction rather than a fully realized experience. Despite these constraints, the game succeeds in delivering a polished and engaging strategic loop that is easy to understand but offers room for experimentation. It captures the appeal of building a team, optimizing their performance, and watching your plans unfold in the arena, even if it does not yet explore the full potential of its systems. The balance between accessibility and depth is well handled, making it approachable for newcomers while still offering enough complexity to keep more experienced players interested for a time. In its current form, Gladiator Guild Manager: Prologue stands as a strong foundation for a management-focused auto-battler that prioritizes planning and synergy over direct control. It is a game that rewards thoughtful decision-making and iterative improvement, offering a satisfying experience within its limited scope. While it does not yet have the breadth or variety to sustain long-term engagement, it provides a clear and compelling glimpse of what a more complete version could achieve. Rating: 7/10
"Gladiator Guild Manager: Prologue" is is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Gladiator Guild Manager". Gladiator Guild Manager is "I can't believe it's not a mobile app", a basic iPhone screen tapper where you pretend to manage a "gladiator guild", and frankly despite the mobile app interface and mobile app tier gameplay, it's really surprising to see it's not on the mobile app stores where it belongs. And the art style is an unabashed ripoff of Kingdom Defense. To the extent I'm wondering if it's at least partially an asset flip. Of course this is from the shovelware pushers at GrabTheGames, pushing minimum viable products at Steam Direct to feed cheap game bundles and grab as much cash as they can off Steam for as little work as possible. That's certainly true of "Gladiator Guild Manager". But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Gladiator Guild Manager, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Gladiator Guild Manager: Prologue" too. The purpose of this advertisement is to get you to shell out a whopping $15 USD on buying Gladiator Guild Manager (which might as well be on Google Play), and I don't recommend you do that either. This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. As an advertisement, this is only free in the same way that adverts on Youtube and banner ads in your browser are. This is a game demo that's been dumped on Steam to advertise another Steam store page in the hopes of raking in some cash. Just because advertisements are free, doesn't mean they're worth your time. It's important to understand there's a formal process to create a demo/page for a game which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an inocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers. It's important to note that, despite this being such a low quality product, there's a number of positive reviews that all appeared immediately after the game launched, from suspiciously inactive Steam accounts that have reviewed almost no other games apart from this. Take the review score of this game with a grain of salt. Advertisements and incorrectly published demos don't add +1 to your game collector count, they aren't full games. It's impossible for me to recommend this incorrectly published advertising spam to gamers, you deserve better than adverts.
Esta bueno para pasar el rato, aunque considero que esta un poco caro la versión completa.

This prologue thing was fun but I don't think I'll get the full release. I recommend trying this out anyway. Problems here: - Arranging the gladiators in the same formation multiple times was tedious even in this 30 min I played - You can only deploy 3-5 of them at a time so only those 3-5 gladiators will be getting XP - Unlocking stuff/playing every fight on the hardest purple difficulty obviously requires grinding, but there's some optional (but enabled by default) "day" system to limit grinding? Wut? - Very unbalanced RNG: On my first match in the bridge level, the green "easy" fight had some level 15 knight that just obliterated my full team, I try again and on the first match the "hard" purple enemy on was now way easier. These issues might have been addressed in the full release but there's no way to know since this prologue build hasn't been updated for years, so I'll have to assume they've only added late game content instead of changing anything at the core. Why I'm not hopeful for any of these to get addressed is because since the full release there's only been some minor patches, and even the last of those was in June 2025 (7 months ago at the time of writing). The devs are already promoting their upcoming game with zero attention on this title.
