“Girls & sweets” is a case where a potentially charming premise is completely buried under severe technical failures. My original one-line review didn't even name the title, an oversight I’m correcting to ensure no one else wastes their time or money on a broken product. (1/10) The most immediate barrier is the English translation, which is in such a dire state that it’s frequently impossible to understand the plot or the characters’ motivations. Minor translation issues can easily be forgiven, but this goes far beyond typos. Most dialogue is incoherent and strips the story of any meaning. Worse still, the game is fundamentally broken. During my time with it, the game was plagued by bugs that made it impossible to play through to the end. Perhaps they have fixed that since then; I hope so, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re thinking about getting it. While the art style might suggest a sweet experience and perhaps a meaningful romance, the technical and linguistic errors have erected a wall that’s impossible to break through. It remains a firm (1/10), not because the premise lacks potential, but because the game simply couldn’t be understood or completed in the state it was in when I last played.
