When my family saw me playing Cookie Clicker, they thought THAT was weird! Now, they see me playing Geo-Deux and they are consulting hospital records and genealogy to make sure I belong in this house.

The game freezed on loading screen while entering restaurant after 95mins of playing.

"GEO-DEUX" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This platformer, while obviously garbage at first glance, isn't really intended primarily to be a game, it's bible bashing Christian evangelism about reclaiming Christmas... which is in December because Christians stole Christmas from earlier festivals of Thule and Saturnalia, the Roman festival for the agriculture god, Saturn. But you know, let's re-write history for the bible bashers. Where did you think the tree, the burning log and all the holly come from? Not the bible. Don't say Steam reviews don't learn you nothing. Anyway this is a really crap platformer where you play like a lizard and you have to go do really badly done Flash tier platforming with bad music, to dress up some angels and make Saturnalia about Judeo-Christian religion again. The platforming genre is pretty much obsolete... just a tiny number of professionally developed platformers exist on PC and offer any real value or interest to gamers (Silksong, etc). This is nowhere near being as good as Hollow Knight or Silksong. Even without a price tag, it's easy to see why gamers ignored this in favor of modern, professionally developed 3D games. This is offering nothing new or interesting, so it's easy to see why this failed. Whether we may or may not agree with the cause, it's my firm belief that religious propaganda, evangelism or indoctrination of any kind has no place in gaming. It does no service to gamers at all for skewed, narrow minded religious or social agenda to be shoved down our throats, no matter which side is doing the shoving. We're here to have fun, not get indoctrinated. Because the primary purpose of this product is totally unrelated to gaming, this really just makes gaming worse, and does nothing to further the developers religious crusade. This is one of those things that gives amateur developers such a bad name. This isn't making religion better. It's making gaming worse. So this looks like an old 1990's Adobe Flash game that you might play in a web browser, and the problem there is obviously Steam wasn't intended to try compete with Chrome and Firefox. If it can be done in a web browser, it's not even close to a cutting edge PC gaming experience. That's a problem. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs and the latest 3D graphics cards to play 2D games. Even mobile phones and game consoles can do 3D graphics now. There's no excuse. Let's talk about price and the value this represents for us gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at [b]only 11 concurrent players[/b]... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. This "free" game won't count toward your game collection count on your profile. With that in mind, is it something you should still download? Definitely not. No up front price, but I still feel ripped off. Finally, I write these reviews to try help people navigate the thousands of games on Steam so they don't waste time on low quality products. There's over 140,000 games on Steam... Steam Direct is allowing an influx of around 40-50 new games [i]every day![/i]. If you think I'm wrong about this one, go ahead and add it to your library, download it, install it, play it and see for yourself. Maybe you'll come to agree with me after wasting your time. Either way, consider writing your own reviews too. I'm just glad if my review helps give gamers enough info to make a better informed choice.
