Gateholt

Gateholt is a 1-4 player co-op horror game about entering cursed places and erasing the marks an evil spirit has left behind. Erase every mark and the spirit loses its hold on the place and disappears. There is just one problem — it will not let you work.

YOUR JOB

• Scrub away dried bloodstains
• Wipe out marks carved into the walls
• Burn cursed objects
• Release the souls it has caught
• Seal its coffins
• And various other purification work

Each task needs a different tool. What you bring is decided before you step inside.

ERASING MAKES IT WORSE

Every mark you erase drives the Demonic Influence down, and the lower it drops, the harder the spirit hunts you. As it falls, servants wake — and lower still, the spirit itself goes on a rampage. In this game, progress and danger are the same meter.

NO TWO NIGHTS ARE THE SAME

Which evil spirit haunts the place, and which servants will wake, you cannot know until the Gate opens. Each servant interferes in its own way — flooding rooms with fog, trading places with the dominant spirit, closing in the moment you look away. What worked last time may not work tonight.

SPLITTING UP IS FASTER

Up to four go in together. Spread out and the work goes faster, but the further you drift from the others, the more dangerous it gets. Your voice only reaches teammates who are nearby — and so do your screams. You can go in alone, too. It just means no one hears you.

IF YOU MAKE IT OUT

Spend your pay on gear, upgrades, and cosmetics. And if you cannot finish, you can close the Gate and walk out. No pay — but you walk out.
