Warning: Microtransaction infested mobile-tier game! This game isn't free, it's infested with a nasty mobile-style in-game cash shop. You will be expected to hand over cash to the "developers" just for playing this junkware.
(Space Wars) is yet another nasty mobile-style project cluttering Steam. It's not free, it's a mobile app for all intents and purposes... it has all the bottom-of-the-barrel traits, from the amateur art to the shallow loops found in mobile money pits. We don't know why this didn't make it to the app stores, but it's probably because Apple and Google have actual quality control while Valve just opens the gates. The developers openly admit this is a (potentially copyright infringing) ripoff of Plants vs Zombies, even describing the roles of the "plants" and "zombies" in the game. The difference is the sheer toxic P2W monetization on this PvP spin of someone else's game. The idea is that players fight each other on the PvZ grid and the player who gives the most money to the developers wins. What "game" there is here is just a shallow screen tapper. The gameplay is incredibly shallow... think of them as the too-bright, thin plastic cabinet dress theme on a poker machine at the casino. The minimal gameplay is just a veneer, a thin skin wrapped around a predatory, mobile-style cash shop. Putting that toxic mobile app monetisation aside... this is basically a mobile app on the wrong platform. I didn't spend thousands on a gaming PC so I could pretend it's an iPhone, and I don't think you did either... this kind of mobile app has no place in your Steam library. There is no English translation, but it's no loss. The language of bad quality shovelware products is universal. This is the part of the review where we need to ask gamers to keep a straight face. This garbage was made with Adobe AIR/Flash, it's basically a 1990's browser/Flash game that's been dumped here on Steam Direct, it's polluting the place with Flash garbage, and that's a real problem. Don't laugh, they seriously published a Flash game on Steam! That's right, this developer was trying to profit from this, they wanted your money for a glorified Flash game. It's appalling, isn't it? Let's talk about price and the value this represents for us gamers. This game is infested with mobile app store like microtransactions. This is a consumer hostile model that we don't need to see on PC. It's deceptively priced to gouge gamers, and that's a reason in itself to avoid this. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 130 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB shows this peaked at less than 100 concurrent players... they couldn't even break three figures! Even though it's free, it's a dismal reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Given that this free game won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? Not on a bet. This might be "free", but I still feel like I got ripped off.
