"Мафия Онлайн" is one of thousands of nasty mobile apps infesting the "free" section of Steam, but it's not really free.
This mobile app scam is from Russia, and while it says "Mafia", it's nothing to do with social deduction games like Werewolf/Mafia/Town of Salem. Instead it's just an incredibly toxic cash hustle with the lame skin of what looks like a city builder tycoon game on it, but that's just window dressing for the money harvester. You remember that episode of South Park where the kids all end up playing a garbage Terrence and Philip mobile app, and Satan says that was too evil even for him? That's what this is.
There's only a superficial game here. The game visuals and the game itself are incredibly shallow... think of them as the too-bright, colourful, thin plastic cabinet dress theme on a poker machine at the casino. That's basically what this is. So really, the mobile app "game" is just a veneer, a thin skin wrapped around a nasty, predatory mobile app cash shop.
Ignoring that this is just a nasty predatory mobile app scam... at best, this is a garbage iPhone app. I didn't drop thousands on a high-end gaming rig just to pretend it's an iPhone, and I doubt you did either... this sort of trash has no business worsening your Steam library.
Like most mobile-tier cash grabs, you're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for a lowest possible quality mobile app, this is clearly intended to strip away your consumer rights and compromise your privacy. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections and consumer rights that gamers expect to have, which is a major red flag. Mobile "developers" need to realize they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I let my cat walk over the keys during the EULA prompt, which solved the issue for me.
There's no English translation for this, but that's okay. The language of bad products is universal.
Now onto pricing and value.
Despite being a "free" game, this couldn't break triple figures, according to the player counts we can see on SteamDB, it's just in the double digits, and now it's not even getting those kinds of numbers. There's over 130 million gamers on Steam... this failed to appeal to almost all of them, most likely because of some or all of the reasons I supply in this review.
All other issues aside (any of which would disqualify this from being worth your time), this is a game that relies on other players for it to be viable, and because there's not enough players, it's not viable. I can't recommend anyone downloads this, it's basically dead.
