Turn over two cards, if the cards match they are removed from the board. Continue until the board is cleared.
Gameplay
You start off the game by choosing your avatar and entering your name. It isn't really clear of the purpose of this. The avatar icon appears in the upper left and I never saw the name after. There are 20 cards. Select two cards. If the cards match they are removed from the board and you get an audio reward. The voice is the same for all of the boards, each match has a number of different audio clips. So, if you remove food the clip may say, "Feed me more". There are also audio clips for not matching after a number of tries and matching consecutive sets. As the cards are removed they reveal the image behind the cards. On the right hand side are icons of the card matches. I'm not sure how much of a help it is, but it may be helpful to some players. There is also a "Getting Hard" mode with 40 cards, selectable from the main menu. There is a 300 point bonus for playing the Getting Hard mode, plus the ability to have longer streaks for more points. You can get a total of 56,100 points for clearing a board in Getting Hard mode, for a perfect clear. You need to reach the score on the image, in order to unlock it. You will need to play multiple times in order to unlock the images. Your scores are cumulative, so if you need 500 points you don't have to get it on one play. You are rewarded more for a higher streak, matching a number of pairs in a row. So, the best strategy would be to reveal all of the cards and then match them. Unfortunately points aren't for all images, just the image you are currently playing, and you will continue to play images that you have already unlocked. You can go back to the main menu and continue, if you want to switch boards.
The Gallery
The Gallery is accessed by selecting the My Gallery option from the title menu. You can only view the images that you have unlocked, by reaching the number of points required for that board. There are currently nine images to unlock with an additional three marked as "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soon".
Final Verdict
The art is good, but only nine images, and you have to work to unlock them. Cheating it took me over an hour to unlock all of the content. Playing straight will take hours. 8 pictures that are waaaay to difficult to unlock. Not worth it. EDIT: Changing my review to a thumbs up because the devs listened to community feedback and made the game much more playable. Thank you, kindhearted devs! EDIT 2: I have to change this back to a negative review because this game needs some quality of life improvements. Never mind that it is still very tedious to unlock a gallery photo (the lowest cost photo is 800 points, and I get about ~300 per game; maybe I'm just bad at the game idk but I don't think so). It is so unfair that I cannot choose which photo I want to spend my time on grinding points to unlock, because now that I have a couple unlocked, the photos I've already completed are popping back into the loop. Those are wasted points! So who knows how long it will take to unlock the 10,000 photo! This should be it's own gameplay mode, for people who want to play the game in and of itself. Nice touch maintaining the difficulty option with the hard mode button though. Maybe add another button for fast tracking the gallery by letting me choose one photo at a time to play on? There should be an alternate path to unlock the photos as quickly as possible. Maybe that's just me, idk, but I don't care much for the amount of time it takes to get to the goods, because it's not that fun.
POST UPDATE #1 ... REVIEW UPDATE TL:DR: Still on the fence for this game... To the point I wish Steam had a middle ground option, BUT I'll give it a flip to the thumbs up side. I follow one of the Artist that worked on this game and find the art to be of good quality [...just not in my uh... "wheel house" you could say] [New Section!] Hm. I'm not sure if like, there was something saying that this is mostly gals being shown or not, but if your coming here looking for guys, you'll be lacking. [no need to change, just saying.] Though it is intresting that you now have a gender slider...? I assume this is just for the voices to be more tailored to it. [End New section] Pros: Good art! The new Normal mode and Hard mode options do a better job at letting the person play the game and not feel like a complete dumb brain [...hey, trying to find the matches in a grid of like 50 plus tiles without seeing them before hand is hard.] Cons: [Lets see what's been fixed now past Update 1] 1. Yeah, game is hard. Fixed? Yes! The new normal mode is better. Still wish you had a moment to like see the tiles so your not hunting and pecking for that match, ruining your chance at combos. 2. ...Voice got annoying faaaaaast. Now, I may not have been in the right "mindstate" for it, but two things stuck out at me on this point: a. Different works of art/girls, Same one voice. b. "Oh do you need help finiding ---" [censored in case of things] Said over and over again as I'm just trying to get a lay of the land of where matches might be. Fixed? I... wanna say no. Still the same girl saying about the same lines? It does seem like some new lines have been added, but otherwise I can't say. To fix: Give the player the option to turn down the rate at which a match gives out a quip or a moan, mix it up a little so that whenever I match a food tile for the umptenth time I don't hear how she "wants to fill her belly with it." [I get it's hot, just, one does not have to vocalize their lust for everything.] Overall... I'm mixed. Still. But it's trending upwards! Good art, Good music, VA frequency is a bit much and the game doesn't really play into the combo system it wants you to have. So as it is as of this review, I can't recommend it. But 4 bucks isn't a high asking price so take this review with some lax-ness.
Short game. The game has little content. The lack of content is compensated by a puzzle. You need to complete the same task 30 times to get points and open 5 pictures.
