Overview:
'FPSBois' is first person multiplayer shooter that doesn't work but looks like it pretty much behaves like every other crappy, uninspired and bland multiplayer shooter so even if it did work, would you really want to play it? At least it wasn't created with the Unity engine like most crappy first person shooters. It was instead developed using the Unreal Engine. Seeing as the game itself was released a little over 2 years ago and has only gathered a collective 37 reviews, you can probably already tell that 'FPSBois' didn't quite take off. And considering that it's a multiplayer game, that really doesn't help with the game's playability.
Gameplay:
As I already mentioned, 'FPSBois' doesn't work and that's due to the fact that the game will randomly crash for no apparent reason. Fiddling with things in the menu or even just idling around for a few minutes will result in the game abruptly closing with no warning or crash report. Even when loading into a game (an empty one of course), the game will crash to desktop but at least the game has the decency to leave the player with a UE fatal error. But you're supposedly able to play from two game modes, deathmatch to free-for-all and within three different maps. So variety isn't the games strong point but neither is quality control so what more can be said for the game besides well, avoid it?
Controls:
Nothing to mention here since you can't even play the game.
Graphics:
Honestly it looks pretty good all things considered but that most likely has a lot to do with the fact that they used a different engine than Unity. Worlds look nice and lighting even nicer. That doesn't derive from the fact that the game is still inoperable. But studying the trailer on the store page, things I can say about the game is that the animations are poorly done with awkward clipping between changing animations.
Audio:
I'm also not able to say much of anything here because I can't even experience the game to a degree where I can make an honest depiction. Even the store page leaves me nothing to work with because it's just terrible music played over a game without sound effects. And please don't tell me the game doesn't have sound effects, because at this point, a theory like that would be extremely possible.
Conclusion/TL;DR:
'FPSBois' is a broken first person multiplayer shooter in the regards that the game crashes after just a minute of running. The only thing one can do is open the game and explore the menu and maybe a bit of the map in spectator mode before the game ultimately crashes. And seeing as how the game has a whopping 7GB file size, I'd say save your time downloading something this chunky and broken and go do something else, like pet a dog while it's having it's belly scratched.
I hope they're still developing it, because: - There's no knife, so if you run out of ammo, well, tough luck, you're left with nothing but 2 grenades that have smaller explosion particles than their actual damage radius - Reload animations are ugly - Stock sounds and missing ones. Enough said. - White blocks around the map (WTF?) - There are 2 primary weapons and a single pistol. Again, enough said. - Not a single server online Because of these things I just can't recommend FPSBois RN. July 2021 edit: It's been more than a year. I thought, maybe they'd do something with it. Nope. They did exactly NOTHING with the game in a whole year. Oh, and only now I noticed just how weirdly the reserve works in this 'game'. When you reload, the amount of ammo in the mag resets, unless there's less in the reserve than the default mag, in which case it will copy the amount of ammo in the reserve. Also, instead of having reloading taking out ammo from the reserve like a normal game, reloading doesn't do anything with the reserve, and instead, the reserve goes down when you shoot, like if it was part of the magazine. What sort of magic do these guns use? Still don't recommend this game. And from how it got treated, it's probably abandonned. It's not worth waiting for.
lmao yess
