A sci-fi flying person vs. robot battle game. This is the Flyland Wars Trainer. A robotic enemy seems to vastly outmatch your necessarily hand-thrown weapons. But you can fly! You can think! You are creative! Sometimes it hardly seems fair...

I do not know what is happening but that was the best 8 minutes of my life. The immersion was something else.

The introductory part of the Flyland Wars Series tells the backstory of the Flyland Universe. The story is the strongest point of the game. It's worth reading all seven pages of it, not just because it's quite an entertaining sci-fi story, but because it explains mechanics that are crucial to beat the other games in the series. The main weak point is that the UI and HUDs are confusing and in-your-face at first until you've read the story and figured out what everything does. The level is included to get comfortable with the mechanics before introducing enemies. I'm interested too see how the developer continues the story through the series.
When will multiplayer be added? I need help from friends to defeat the sphere.
I wasn't sure about whether this was a serious game or a joke that's been dumped on Steam for laughs... but given there's 3 full versions of this demo that are being sold for real money, we should conclude this really was an attempt at making a game. Flyland Wars: 0 Ball Game [Trainer] is not strictly a game. It's an advertisement/demo for a series of three extremely badly made "Flyland Wars" first/third person shooter games slapped together badly with Unity. I don't think this is an asset flip, although it's likely one or two assets (like the players own model) are ripped from asset stores, given the jarringly different levels of quality between assets. The main menu for the game looks like it was designed and implemented by an elementary school kid. One you do get into the demo, you'll discover there's no actual content, it's just an empty grass field that you "fly" over. The controls are so badly designed it might cause gamers to feel unwell. In fact, the overall quality of this train wreck is so bad it might be against the Geneva Convention. It's a common mistake when unfamiliar with Steam to launch demos/advertisements as full games on Steam instead of tagging them correctly as demos. Here's the instructions for putting a demo up on Steam, to demonstrate that there is a correct process for this, which hasn't been followed here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/application/demos While it might seem like an inocuous mistake, publishing demos and advertisements as if they are full games is misleading and in some ways harmful. This advertisement is taking up marketing space and visibility that would be better made available to a developer that's done the right thing and created a full game. Instead, that visibility is given over to a demo/advert that's been published incorrectly and is polluting the marketplace. It's unclear if this mistake was made through incompetence or a deliberate intent to mislead gamers. Often developers may choose to incorrectly publish demo/advertisements as separate games as a cheap way to bypass paying Valve for marketing presence on the Steam front page, which may seem clever to them, but it's harmful behaviour and it's not good for gamers. At the end of the day, I can only recommend full, correctly published games to gamers. Because this is just an advertisement, and because of the other problems with it, I can't recommend it.
Developer Response!
The developer has weighed in to inform everyone they didn't read the Developer Usage Rules for Steam "partners", or they deliberately ignored the part where Valve says:
Though it may be tempting, not every review needs to be responded to. A developer response will frequently draw more attention than the original statement, potentially turning a small issue into a much larger community discussion. It's also not a good idea to use this feature to refute customer opinions. Your direct attention can be seen as validation or a defensive attempt to silence your customers.
The developer brazenly admits they never intended this to be a serious game but they dumped it on Steam anyway, despite having zero content, gameplay, and absolutely atrocious defects (as my review highlights). Why has the developer deliberately polluted Steam with garbage that isn't even a real game and has no value for gamers? It's worth pointing out that this non-game only ever had two consecutive players peak, as per SteamDB (facts don't lie). So what's happened here? Oh yeah... this developer is THE MAIN CHARACTER. He's put himself before gamers, Steam, and everyone else on the planet, dumping pollution like this on Steam to make him feel good about himself, despite having no value for gamers, and the pollution making it even harder for genuine developers who know what they're doing to get visibility. And we know it has no value, despite being "free" (it's an advertisement intended to draw attention to the other trash games from this "developer"), because SteamDB shows just how many people avoided it. There's 12 million gamers on Steam and only 100,000 games. Even random chance would result in this having a higher player count. People saw it and avoided it. That's a fact supported by the data. In an attempt to discredit the facts and validity of my review the developer seems to think that the game must be played for several hours before determining any objective facts about it. Apparently, before deciding a carton of rancid milk has gone sour, the developer thinks we must drink the whole carton before we're allowed to tell anyone the milk has gone off. What rubbish. Playing a bad game for longer will not make the graphics better, cause the code to change, controls to become better, or fix any bugs or other defects in it. So why insist the game needs to be played longer? This is simply psychological denial on the part of the developer. If they can attack the review, they can pretend their game doesn't suffer from the defects this review highlights. This is outright delusion, unfortunately. It does not take very long for the defects in this game to become apparent. Playing the game for longer will not change them. The developer brazenly admits they love to take other people's assets and use them, but doesn't credit them, hoping instead someone will think he is the asset creator. It's not hard to write a credits page. Gamers are not supposed to "guess" if a developer didn't actually create the assets in their game. When developers do this, they position themselves as having their name against those assets... it's 100% plagiarism. If they used someone else's work in a Hollywood movie, they'd be sued into the ground and never work in the industry again. They're tacitly telling gamers because this is their game, the assets are also theirs. We also know that this is deliberate. It's easy to include a simple credits page. Why would the developer deliberately choose not to do this, if not to hide the true origin of the game assets from gamers? Claiming the work of others as your own, failing to credit the work of others, is highly unethical, and the developer here now tacitly admits to it. The developer arrogantly accuses me of slander. This shows an incredible amount of ignorance. First, it cannot be derogatory if it's the truth, and the findings of my review are supported by facts as I've demonstrated. Secondly, in writing, it's "libel". You can see from the developers atrocious response and "Main character syndrome" how such garbage arrived on Steam, but at the end of the day what matters is the value to gamers, and because this non-game pollution is actually harmful, this has negative value and should be removed from Steam. Nothing in the developers pointless breach of Valve guidelines changes any of the objective facts of my review. My review stands unaltered. I cannot recommend this non-game software to anyone.
