Do I recommend this game? Yes, if it is on sale. But, it did get a bit tedious after a while. Areas where Square could definitely improve are the following: -Half the game is cutscenes. It is cool watching a movie unfold in your game, not so much a game unfold in the middle of your extended miniseries. -Too many unnecessary clicks and actions. If I press the button, open the door. Don't make me hold it down for a second. -Despite a good story, it has a silly, somewhat anti-religious philosophy underpinning it. Great if you are not religious, but might irritate more religious folk wanting to play a game without having their beliefs questioned. But, with all that said, it was a good game. The combat system was unique, if not perfect. The characters were engaging and development was pretty good. As I mentioned before, the story is unique and interesting (not that I'm surprised by this considering it is a Square game). All in all, a good game that just got a bit tedious at the end. The expansions are meh, so do them if you want. The world is set up much more like Dragon Age games than the more open world exploration of the FF games of old, but it works. In the end, I'd give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. Would have been 4 stars if the cutscenes were just a little bit less time consuming.

If like Final Fantasy and also enjoy games like the Tales of series, or even something like God of War - you'll like this game. Please, don't do yourself a disservice and compare this directly to other final fantasies - except maybe FF7R. This is an action adventure more than an RPG in most ways. But the story is compelling, the voice acting is overall solid, the characters are pretty good and the combat is snappy, if not a little shallow.

Broooo The story, battles, and cinematic scenes are all so damn good The Eikon fights are especially insane 🤌 There some parts that feel boring because too much talking, but if you can push through those parts, the payoff is 100% worth it 🔥

Amazing graphics and music, insanely fun combat gameplay, incredible boss battles. However, main issues are the optimisation and memory leak problems, and side quests which have good writing but are all essentially the same loop of talk to this guy, kill some stuff and go back and talk to them again. Overall story also is your basic hero fantasy story.

Główny wątek spoko, szczególnie na początku i jak by ta gra tak trzymała tępo jak na początku to byłaby super.... Ale nie... Mniej więcej od połowy zaczyna się pełno questów pobocznych, które są nudne jak jak flaki z olejem i mają jakość jak w najtańszym MMO. Po 50 godzinach tej gry już je wszystkie przekrzykiwałem a i tak mnie nudziły. Przejście gry zajęło mi 63 godziny i doszedłem do wniosku, że ta gra jest po prostu brzydka i ma beznadziejną warstwę artystyczną. Ja rozumiem, że "poważny klimat", ale przecież tej przygnębiającej muzyki i klimatu to nie dało się już znieść. Te wszystkie lokacje, po których latasz w kółko, wyglądają jak z ps2 tylko że mają większą rozdzielczość. Tak samo te 5 modeli MPC w około, Ogółem chyba najgorsza część FF w jaką grałem. Przechodzić tylko dla wątku głównego. Albo obejrzeć na YT :P Ga nie działa pod linuxem, wiesza się cały czas. Obojętnie jakiego protona wybierzesz.

Incredible game. Great music, great story, great combat system. If you're expecting turn-based old-school Final Fantasy, this is not it. If you expect a good game, please try it. The voice acting is incredible too. I think the only things that could be better is the optimization for PC, but I was able to run it without issue at 1080p. Do note however that this should be installed in an SSD. I tried with an ancient hard drive and some cinematics would freeze, but that's on me for using decade old hardware. I've been playing since FF VII, and this one one is near the top, but I'm one of those weirdos who prefer X over VII.
