História sensacional, quem não jogou ainda é louco!!
The BEST remaster of a game to ever exist.
ótimo jogo

Loved the OG. Remaster brings some quality of life improvements and has potential for future mods from the community. I prefer the redrawn sprites to the original and like the burlap filter that mimics old-school CRT scanlines -- adds some depth to the shading. Some quirks to depth of field blur added to story scenes that's kinda wonk but I'm nitpicking. Solid grab, especially on discount.
Another one of those games that was always recommended for me to play that I never got the chance to. I tried the mobile game but I hated trying to play it like that so I gave up quick. Luckily, this version came out and it's so much more enjoyable. I had always heard this game was more on the difficult side until you really start to learn the game system. At first I thought the game was maybe too easy... that changed quickly. It's almost annoying how hard it is until you start learning how to make a good build, what each class is capable of, who to bring and when. Sometimes you just have to lose or restart the fight to make adjustments. If you are like me and struggle with strategic combat then prepare. Saying that, the story is so good that I learned and continued forward. I used no guides and I would recommend doing the same at least for a first playthrough. As I said above the story is incredible. It's an interesting plot, has unexpected twist, a strong cast of characters, and has great pacing. The voice acting is also very good... some characters sound a little out of place but overall it was enjoyable. The soundtrack is also very good, it will start to get a little old but it jams. There are a few things I really didn't like and that was more dev decisions than the game itself. The first thing is picking a version of the game at the beginning. It's weird and makes it take too long to start playing. It could have just been an option when you start a new game... or it could have been 2 downloads for the separate versions. Another is the auto proceed text. Not only does it turn itself off after every battle, but it turns itself off any time the camera moves. If you turn it on it should just stay on. On interesting parts I wanted to sit back and watch, but I'd still have to like a button every once and awhile to turn it back on. Maybe there was a setting I couldn't find but geez that was annoying. The other things would just be to let you pause at any moment. In battles if it's the npcs turn you have to watch them all move (or fast forward) then once it's your turn you can pause again. I just didn't really understand these decisions. They aren't big things and I get it's kind of whiny but still... this came out in 25 lets keep things modern. Overall, 9/10 gaming experience! If you are on the fence about it just do it, even if you've read about the difficulty. It's worth it and I'm glad I finally played this one.
Klare Empfehlung.
This was one of my favorite games growing up and it greatly influenced me at that age, so I am baised, but from just playing the enhanced edition into the first chapter I think this game is still great. The job system is great, it offers a lot of variety and the power swings as you change into new classes with barely any skills offers a bit of tension as your power grows. And if you dive into the mechanics, you can make ridiculous monsters out of your characters which can be it's own fun. The story is great, there is a clear theme of “power corrupts”, or rather “power for dominating and controlling others corrupts”. The plot starts with a focus on medieval political intrigues and segues more into a more straightforward “get the bad guys” demon hunt. Some people don’t like this shift, and I used to agree with them, but with more thought I think it’s an excellent continuation of the greater themes in the game and is important to what the game is trying to say. Of course this doesn’t mean those people are wrong for disliking the shift, even a perfectly executed dish will receive lukewarm reviews from those without a taste for the style (and while I love FFT, it certainly isn’t perfectly executed.) I was also someone who didn’t really like the style of the updated (PSP era) translation. It was much more legible, but the loss of some fantastic lines and the overwrought English bothered me. While I still miss “Blame yourself or God”, I think the added voice acting elevates the overwrought English and I ended up really enjoying it this playthrough. That or my tastes have changed, it has been many years since I played the PSP copy of FFT. For the combat, I think it’s great. For comparison, I had been playing Tactics Ogre: Reborn, which has plenty to like but I often find battles can turn into a slow slog (this can easily be my own incompetence but regardless that is my experience.) I haven’t finished it yet but playing FFT I felt the battles moved much faster and were snappier than Tactics Ogre’s were. The battles in FFT are so fun I was able to grind out the “master all jobs” achievement with no problem which I was unsure I'd be able to do, sure that I would get bored and give up. It should be clear by now that I recommend this game to you, and if it has piqued your interest enough for you to check it out and read this long steam review, I think you will find something special in this game too, just as I did years ago.
