Fight for Eden: HEAT

Certainly worth a try if you're curious, and want to play around with as it looks like the developer is taking an interest on the discussion board. It's a good starting point, and free so of course that always helps smooth over many of the issues. This is a first impressions only, and I will probably get back to it once it's been updated a bit. The controls are a bit wonky, sometimes you teleport for no obvious reasons or spin in a circle. Once you pick up a weapon you don't seem to have any option to put it down, and the movement is a bit difficult to control in general. I'm not sure of any suggestions to make it better, it just seems to need fine-tuning. For example: I was trying to pick a rose and dropped it, leading to the thing rolling across half the map with me chasing after it between the hills of volcano. When the rose finally stopped rolling, I couldn't pick it up and finally decided to give the game a rest for a while. You get the usual weapons: sword, axe, shield and bows, but you also get a spear you can throw. That's nice. Enemy AI is simple, but serviceable for now. Environments are very basic, but I'm happy to ignore those faults for now due to the early build given the developer does seem to still be working on the game and we can hope for future improvements. I haven't seen any smut yet if it's in this version of the game, but it seems to be revolving around a single female character who you will complete tasks for in order to get her interest. All NPCs have computer generated voices, but they're decent quality, if unemotional. Future plans seem as though you will be able to engage with other characters, but how much variety of species/appearance or what you can do with them is unknown to me. The game is definitely an alpha build, but the idea is interesting and I look forward to seeing where it goes. Given the free price tag, it's certainly worth a look if you're at all interested.
