Fields of Mistria

I absolutely would whole-heartedly recommend this game to others. I won't presume as to what you like, but I will say: I've played thousands of hours of Stardew valley (instantly obsessed- and I'm not using the term flippantly- I played it every available moment when my husband first got it for me) I loved the balance of the farming, mining, fighting, etc. My adhd brain loved balancing several tasks and always having something to do- the visuals were cute. I never really loved the personalities (I still LOVE stardew as its just got something that drags me in) or the social interactions that much? I also loved anime from the time I was a late teenager (and first got exposed to it really). The personalities, dialogue and the extra layers and love and care that were put into this game SHOW. I highly recommend it, but would still recommend games like Stardew Valley, Fae Farm, or Luma Island depending on what you like from the perticular "flavour" of game Stardew created. If it seems like someone you'd like- try it out! Happy Gaming!! Side note: I play this on my desktop computer (specced to handle 3D Autocad years ago when I got it), but I've also been able to play this easily on a regular older inexpensive laptop, as well as my older Microsoft Surface Pro tablet, neither of which have amazing graphics, etc. In case that helps anyone!

I haven't fully finished the game yet, but I feel like after 60 hours I can make a review now. Okay, the obvious: this is heavily influenced by that other wonderful cozy farming sim and has a very similar loop. If you found yourself burned out on the genre, take some time before playing this because it's a very similar game. I've played it almost entirely on the deck from a cozy recliner, and it's been a great way to kill hours. There's nothing here that's difficult to understand, but plenty of things to do to keep you busy. All of the different systems are fun, especially the way the mines work, which had me racing back to my farm at 1am because I just couldn't find that exit in time. But the best thing about this game is the dialog. These characters are so funny and they all interact with each other in fun ways. You'll never want to miss Friday night at the Inn. There's just too many cool things going on there. I think it's worth it at full price. Highly recommended.

The game is a great life and farm sim. It checks all the boxes and has a lot of bells and whistles. The sense of progression is great, and it allows you to either stay on rails with how quickly the story and game continues or go off the beaten trail or even just sit back and relax. This is a very well executed game, and NPC Studio should be proud of their work. I think once it leaves Early Access a lot of people are going to be surprised by this game and how great it is.
