This game is so fun. Great for when you want to play something quick or if you want to click around on something that will give you a good laugh. Just good fun!
Did you know? Fashion FUPA was originally conceived by Shigeru Miyamoto some time in the 1960s. Before he invented video games, Miyamoto worked at one of Nintendo's love hotels. The customers of this particular love hotel were people of culture, sporting extravagantly decorated fat upper pelvic areas (aka FUPAs). Miyamoto saw these FUPAs and desired to create his own, but at the time he wasn't sure how he could do such a thing. Eventually, Nintendo would enter the video game business after Miyamoto realized that there is no historical evidence of the company having actually operated love hotels and that their existence was just misinformation spread online. With the release of the Nintendo Entertainment System (which was actually a reskin of the Japanese Doki Doki Entertainment System), Miyamoto began developing the first Fashion FUPA prototype. However, he feared that Nintendo would not approve of his concept. Ever a proponent of delayed games that would eventually be good, Miyamoto spent the next 40 years perfecting his game in secret while he released other, FUPA-less games. One of the most prominent 3rd party developers for the NES was Capcom. Ben Wiley, a composer at the company, was disliked by many of his coworkers for putting off his work in favor of building robots to take over the world. As a way to get back at him, they created the Mega Man series, where the player can destroy Wiley's various creations. The character based on him was renamed to Dr. Wily, just to see how long it would take for him to notice. He didn't figure out the connection until shortly after the release of Mega Man 8, after which he built yet another robot that wiped out most of the development team. Capcom was forced to outsource the development of Mega Man 9 & 10 to Inti Creates while they hired new developers for Mega Man 11 & Mega Man Dual Override, set to release in 2027. Wiley managed to evade capture for his crimes. Fast-forward all the way to 2026, when Miyamoto had grown tired of being successful. Nintendo would not allow him to release Fashion FUPA, nor would they allow him to resign and become an indie developer. Miyamoto was forced to go into hiding. He changed his name to fufroom, which was a reference to the fact that, if Mario was being force-fed a bunch of mushrooms and he tried to say the word "mushroom" but it sounded like "fufroom", would that be messed up or what? The newly-christened fufroom sought refuge in Louisville, a mysterious city in Kentucky that is only accessible to outsiders during the Kentucky Derby each May. Wiley had just so happened to also flee here. The two met at a bee museum, where it's reported that they both happened to say to themselves, at the exact same time, "If only somebody would create a cereal from bees and use it to distribute a game about FUPAs!" And that's what led to the creation of Just Bees! cereal and Fashion FUPA finally being released after all these years. And now you know!
I iek my fupa
This game has a lot of charm! It's really fun exploring the fake OS, finding random Pickypedia entries, and figuring out unlocking all the achievements. Plenty of silly humor to keep you entertained for an hour, even aside from the crafting! It's also neat seeing some of the other wacky creations people have made with the limited tools lol.
A topnotch Fake-OS type game akin to HypnoSpace Outlaw. Charm just oozes from UI, videos, writing, and art.
It's super weird! If you like self-expression games where you can create your own wacky thing, this is for you. I really like the option to upload your own creation and to see what other people have made. I like the joke-ads too!
Sharing my FUPA online has brought me much success and happiness. If you follow these 3 key steps you too can be happy AND successful: 1. Make a FUPA 2. Post it on OF (OnlyFUPAs) 3. Be happy
Come for the FUPA, stay for the wacky humor and fun MIDI muzak!
