I punched a mammoth with a stick because apparently that's a normal Tuesday in the Stone Age. Far Cry Primal is basically "unga bunga simulator," and somehow it's amazing. I started the game with nothing, then five minutes later I had a pet wolf, a bear, and enough spears to solve all my problems. There are no guns, but honestly, throwing a spear at someone from 30 meters away is way more satisfying. Also, every animal in the forest has a personal mission to ruin your day. I couldn't walk ten steps without getting attacked by something with too many teeth.
Very interesting and engaging. I have a lot of interest in anthropology, and this feels like a light engagement with it. The gameplay mechanics had to be aligned with other games in this franchise, so it didn’t feel 100% prehistoric. Yet, as a game, it does justice. A softer, non-violent version could even be used in schools during anthropology lessons.

Ubisoft hates us... (Breaking News, I know) - Only a single save slot. It's 2026 and there's still no option for multiple save files? If more than one person wants to play on the same PC, or if you simply want to start a new game without deleting your old progress, you're out of luck. - Constant Ubisoft Connect and online nonsense. I just want to play the single-player campaign offline. Why do I have to deal with online services, pop-ups, account integration, or cloud sync? - A launcher inside a launcher. Even on Steam, you still have to launch Ubisoft Connect first. It's another piece of software running in the background, requiring updates, and occasionally causing problems. Artificial restrictions that add nothing to the gameplay and only exist to push Ubisoft's own ecosystem. - An increasing focus on accounts, telemetry, and platform lock-in instead of improving the actual player experience. If you get this game for free, you may still enjoy it... I try to enjoy it, but I am not yet sure if I can
