Far Cry 5 is a game that genuinely surprised me and stayed with me long after I finished playing it.
What first caught my attention was the story. At first, it might seem like a fairly straightforward action game, but the more you think about what is happening in the world and why the characters act the way they do, the more interesting and deeper the story becomes. The atmosphere, characters, and events make the world feel alive, and there are many moments that actually make you stop and think.
The graphics are also still really impressive. The environments are beautiful, the landscapes are incredibly detailed, and the game does a great job of creating a huge and believable world. Exploring the map, driving around, encountering random enemies or animals, and simply discovering new places never felt completely repetitive to me.
Another thing I really enjoyed was the variety of wildlife and enemies. There are many different animals to encounter, and the enemies don’t all feel exactly the same. Combined with the huge variety of weapons, this gives you a lot of freedom in how you want to play.
But one thing I especially want to mention is the vehicle handling. It feels noticeably different from many other games. Driving doesn’t feel completely arcade-like there is a certain weight and realism to the vehicles, and I really enjoyed that feeling. Cars, trucks, boats, and planes all feel different, which makes traveling around the world much more enjoyable.
The co-op story mode is another great idea. Being able to experience the campaign together with a friend makes the game feel completely different. I played a big part of the story with a friend, and those moments became some of my favorite memories from the game. It’s not just about completing missions - it’s about experiencing the whole adventure together, laughing at unexpected situations, getting into trouble, and simply enjoying the world.
I also really liked the progression system. There is a large variety of weapons, abilities, and skills that you can unlock and upgrade. These upgrades actually make a difference later in the game and give you a reason to explore, complete side activities, and experiment with different playstyles.
But honestly, the biggest reason this game means so much to me is the memories it gave me.
Far Cry 5 became more than just another game that I completed. It gave me a really pleasant memory that I know I will remember for a long time. After finishing it, I actually had this strange feeling of wanting to forget everything about it just so I could experience the story again from the beginning. I wanted to discover everything again, meet the characters again, explore the world again, and experience those moments for the first time.
I haven’t felt that way about a game in a long time.
For me, Far Cry 5 was one of those games that came at the right time and turned into something much more personal than I expected. It reminded me why I love story-driven games in the first place.
I genuinely loved this game, and I would gladly start the whole journey again from the beginning. 10/10.
