Familiar Friends: What's Your Familiar?

I got the owl. I...want to give this a neutral review. It took 15 minutes to complete which is fine, it's a free little game and I appreciate that. But there's just a couple things that I need to critique. The art style of the cat and the owl is wildly different from the rest of the art in the game. I know you guys used AI and I'm not that upset over that...but the inconsistency in the art style was very jarring and definitely dampened the experience. I would have much preferred if the cat and owl looked like the animals in the end scenes. Same with the ending music. The game is very fantasy coded and the end song is some AI rock song that just doesn't fit the theme. So, yeah. Small, free, not bad, kinda cute, but could use some tweaking in my opinion.

this was a pretty short but pleasant game. I got Percivaul the Platypus and the game made a few comments about poisons and toxins and magic related to them. Overall It was a pleasant game and it was nice having one that didnt take 40-60 minutes to get through.

The game presented AI pics and accompanying dialogs, inquired for some (semi-) private data, and then... froze on delivering the outcome (a suitable familiar). That's just gross!.

A good experience, somewhat different from The Test series. It's still some sort of personality test in disguise, obviously, but this time there is a different aesthetic and setting for it. I like the fantasy setting in it, it's something like... wholesome dark fantasy? Anyway, the idea is great and the blend of otherwise contradictory aesthetics is appealing to me... and, after all, fits the experience. It's something different and that's refreshing in its own right, I guess, even if the take on fantasy itself feels... rather tropey or superficial or surface-level in comparison with some other takes on a fantasy setting. But this kind of nuance or lore-building wasn't expected in the first place, so that's alright. To be honest, I don't have anything to complain about, the experience is overall good and provides useful feedback. It does what is expected of it and it's free. It's a mature experience and I always appreciate maturity in a video game or in anything else. Serious but playful and light. Either I'm seeing things or this trend of cute plus dark gets more popular or visible recently, or just awareness of it raises. My familiar was (if I remember the name correctly): Donovan the Dog. Now, a word regarding the use of AI in the game: the AI feel is real but I guess the artworks are good enough to pass for me in the case of this experience. I admit it though, I'd generally prefer a fully human-made art but I guess this time the artworks have that uncanny feel: good but feel AI-like. Personally, for me, it's not inherently bad, I'm not completely opposed to the idea of using AI in games or in general, I just wish it wouldn't replace human artworks completely and the AI-generated or AI-altered artworks were actually good. Here, it's good enough but it has that odd feel of AI and human blend. Interesting outcome and experiment but the concerns about the use of AI seem real to me but, once again, I'm not completely opposed to the idea of AI in general.
