First off I would like to state that I enjoyed Fallout 3, with about 60 hours under my belt although you can't find an exact number with it being set to the launcher and not the application. With everyone comparing this game directly to New Vegas I think that most come with a sense of bias, completely overlook Fallout 3 as a stand alone and just assign it a label of "not as good" in a direct comparison. I think that Fallout 3 as a stand alone title is good, although it suffers from a lack of focus. Splitting between showing cool locations and the narrative depth of the characters. I think they did well with the sense of spectacle and enjoyment from exploring the Capital Wasteland. Its an interest interconnected environment which captures the DC and the surrounding area well. It entices a sense of "wow look at this" when I see the National Mall turned into sprawling trench system and the area just surrounding it having a well connected and interactable locations. My eyes are glued to my screen looking at what they cooked up elsewhere. I do think though that there aren't many interesting NPC's and places that go, that are beyond a simple interaction and an associated quest. I found myself thinking that's it? Not having any emotional connection when I ravaged the place with my missile launcher. There are exceptions notable Tenpenny tower and the quests associated with it left with internal dialogue asking myself do I sack the place or do I let the ghouls in. Ultimately the quest falls to either kill one side or kill the other side as letting the ghouls live near or letting them destroy the place leads to the same ending of everyone being dead. It was a simply good or bad ending which wasn't nearly as interesting as I hoped with the only twist being that everyone dies no matter what if you let the ghouls in or near. Although this game suffers the same fate as New Vegas is that its a playability mess and the bugs was a major downside. Along with the bland gameplay and clunky controls makes the combat feel more of a chores, rather something I enjoy interacting with. The small fast moving enemies or enemies with way too much health make me dread enemy encounters. With only VATS making the combat acceptable and interesting watching the enemy head get blown away with .44 magnum. I think that both New Vegas and 3 are in need of a remake. Moving away from the god forsaken Gamebryo engine to something more modern and equipped to work with modern hardware. To be honest anything that doesn't run at 15 FPS and doesn't crash so often making me save out of fear, or lockout my game from a bug. TLDR - Fallout 3 greatly achieves on player spectacle and the vast open world and interesting settings, but falls flat on un interesting characters and linear story telling and the removal of player options aside from good and evil. I personally would recommend it, if you want an interesting environment to explore giving you at least a good 50 hours of gameplay.
I desire Charon carnally.

does not launch. I dont know why they put a team onto this game to make the launcher look fancy then proceeded to not fix a single actual issue with the game itself. valve should take this game listing down.
Very nice game , hope your Dev more better soon

I played Fallout: New Vegas before Fallout 3, and my main criticism of New Vegas was how bad the gameplay felt. I don't usually nitpick graphics, but I do in gameplay. The AI was bad, the shooting mechanics were shabby, character movement felt clunky, and the game was incredibly buggy and crashed constantly. The second thing that bothered me was the voice acting, or more precisely, how many NPCs were voiced by the same few actors. So, playing Fallout 3 after finishing New Vegas a couple of times, I realized where most of the problems arise; New Vegas is basically a modded version of Fallout 3, but the worse quality problems in 3 made me detest it so much that I tried to finish the game as soon as I can, and never really bothered to play it again. However, after watching the video titled "I Turned Fallout New Vegas into a Classic Isometric RPG" by Lone Wastelander, I thought maybe I was quite harsh on 3D Fallout games, I decided to give 3 another chance. This time though I gave the game a real chance. I came to the conclusion that Fallout 3 has the ache of an universe transitioning from its isometric roots into 3D. The problems I said previously could've been easily fixed or be non existent if it was in style of first 2 Fallout games. However, Fallout 3 have some flaws that being an isometric game couldn't solve. To give credit where credit is due, I was surprised by how much content and how many side quests Fallout 3 actually features. From the vampires and Oasis, where they worship Harold and Bob from the classic games, to the cult elements in the DLC, the list goes on. Furthermore, even on my first playthrough, I highly appreciated how terrifying the ghouls, super mutants, and Vault you find the GECK actually looked. However, Fallout 3 suffers from a great premise but weak execution. In that sense, it’s almost the opposite of New Vegas; NV feels like some kind of a techno-futuristic western while 3 indeed feels like a true Fallout game at the start. What do I mean by that? Fallout 3 has a story that feels like a true Fallout story: a young man grows up in a Vault, only for his father to suddenly leave. He sets out to find him, discovers his father’s noble pursuit, witnesses his sacrifice, and eventually has to decide whether to honor it. Sounds pretty good, right? The problem is that the execution is incredibly poor. James’s reason for leaving the Vault is barely explained, and the earliest skill check in the game requires you to disarm a nuclear warhead, navigating the Metro is more than confusing, I'm not so sure if the Enclave's obedience to a computer is even justified (and it's quite unoriginal, a la Shi from Fallout 2), and convincing Autumn at the end makes even less sense. I could go on. By contrast, while New Vegas starts off vague and overwhelms you with DLC pop-ups, it ultimately picks up the slack through its progression, side characters and companions, which somethings that 3 doesn't have. In the end, I think Fallout 3 collapses under it's own weight. Despite this ,I'm giving it a positive review just for the sheer amount of content it has. I certainly wouldn't be this generous if I hadn't watched the said video earlier. 6/10
