Everseeker: Little Critters

At first, [i]Everseeker[/i] looks like any other little HOG game out there that (mostly) feature cats. This one has one level, a nicely drawn artwork and 100 critters for us to find. However, apart from the usual game modes you come across in this genre (that means normal and speedrun) there is one called random. Essentially, this means the critters get randomised so we can once again do a run. This does not extend the game's longevity by a lot since there is only one level. As it is available in the form of a selection (with the name level 01) perhaps it means additional stages will be added later. Another interesting part is the developer commentary. Dialogue pop-ups can be found on the level and when clicking on them we hear the developer's feedback on the creative process. It is interesting especially the monologue on the script that made randomisation possible. The only downside here is the somewhat bad pronunciation and that the subtitles do not always match what is heard (or simply some sentences are skipped).

Essa verão é mais moderna com efeitos ao localizar os objetivos porem o efeito de mover a câmera somente ao colocar o cursor no canto da tela é algo grotesco. O modo de ampliação da visão nessa versão ficou péssima. Inventaram muita moda no que já dava certo. Casual hidden object game, one of many available, but it is still a good 10-minute coffee break distraction. The objective are various insects, such as snails, bees, worms, and so on. They are not difficult to spot, and you have a good zoom to get a closer look. What’s more, the single scene is not very large. There is no penalty for clicking all over the place, and you receive an achievement for each of the hundred insects. Aside from the little extras like speedrun, random objects, and color customization, the game includes a nice developer commentary that sheds light on the creation process and how the idea came to be.

Um desenho muito bonito de facto, percebe-se a ação do seu entorno, até os insetos com poses bacanas, ou infelizmente sendo devorados, mas é o ciclo da vida. Sendo um chato aspirante em entomologia, digo que os caracóis não são insetos, mas moluscos, o que é mó estranho, que nos vem a mente um Davy Jones ou do CLT Lula Molusco. A música é legalzinha, nada contra, não se tornou enjoativa. Destaco os efeitos e os sons quando clicados nos insetos, bem elaborados e bem pensados, o que torna algo único em comparação com outros jogos do mesmo estilo, e também, podermos escolher as cores que compõem o cenário, muy bueno. Gutes Hidden Spiel. Wir suchen hier 100 Insekten - Marienkäfer, Raupen, Schmetterlinge, Schnecken usw. Das Bild ist schmal aber zieht sich weit nach unten. Wenn ihr ein Insekt gefunden habt bleibt es farbig und es schwirren so Partikel drum rum (das kann man aber auch in den Optionen ausschalten - falls unerwünscht). Es gab keinerlei Probleme beim suchen~

A cute hidden object game with nice graphics, zoom, hints, and relaxing music. However, there's an input delay when clicking on objects, which is distracting. It takes a couple of seconds to register, which I haven't experienced in similar games. This might be due to using WASD for movement, but it’s still a bit irritating. Not a deal-breaker, but definitely something to be aware of. Otherwise, it's a charming and enjoyable game!
