About
This is a moderately challenging single-player minimalist 2D puzzle game with approximately 100 levels. In the game, you control your piece (an hourglass) to evade or capture other pieces according to game mechanics, ultimately reaching the target point. Different pieces follow distinct movement logic that isn't explicitly revealed - you must deduce these patterns through exploration and observation.
Most levels are grouped in series of 10. Within each series, difficulty gradually increases: earlier levels serve as tutorials for core mechanics, while later levels present greater challenges that may require extended problem-solving.
Although appearing turn-based (with enemy pieces reacting after your moves before awaiting your next action), the game actually operates in real-time. Each piece enters a cooldown period after moving, creating dynamic puzzle scenarios where enemy pieces might execute multiple moves in response to your actions.
While the compact game allows free selection of any level (no progression locks), sequential play is recommended for optimal experience progression.

At first glance at the menu I was pleasantly surprised! Just for the simple reason that I saw that the entire menu is in a language other than English, but still the menu is big and has an "English" button! And is not a nightmare to switch to English!! But the gameplay... I think this developer has something against humanity!... the first levels were ok... then, damn... they follow me every move! Every path... damn, this game is hard!
Everranger is a clever little puzzle game that I enjoyed more than I expected. The basic idea is simple enough, as I control an hourglass shaped piece and try to reach the target while avoiding or capturing other pieces. What makes it interesting is that the other pieces do not openly explain how they move, so I have to figure out their behavior through observation and experimentation. The puzzle design is where the game really shines for me. Each piece follows its own movement rules, and learning those rules becomes just as important as planning my own route. I liked the feeling of watching an enemy move, thinking I understood it, and then realizing I had to adjust my entire plan. The earlier puzzles introduce the concepts naturally, while later ones demand much more careful thinking. I also found the real time element surprisingly interesting. At first the game looks almost turn based because the pieces react after I move, but the cooldown system means the timing can become more complicated. An enemy might get multiple opportunities to move while I am trying to reposition, so I cannot always assume the board will remain exactly as I left it. That gives the puzzles a little more tension than a completely static grid. The minimalist presentation works very well. The simple shapes and clean boards keep my attention focused on movement patterns and positioning instead of distracting me with unnecessary visual effects. I also like that I can freely select levels rather than being forced through a strict progression. That makes it easy to return to a puzzle later when I am in the mood for something more challenging. My biggest issue is that the game can become frustrating when I am still trying to understand a new piece's behavior. Since the mechanics are intentionally hidden, I sometimes feel like I am learning through failure rather than solving from clear information. That can be satisfying when everything finally clicks, but it can also make certain puzzles feel slower than they need to be. I also think the simplicity means the game depends heavily on whether I enjoy logic puzzles. There is not much story or character interaction to provide another reason to keep playing. For me, that is completely fine because the puzzle mechanics are strong enough to carry the experience, but players looking for a more traditional adventure may find it very barebones. Overall, Everranger is a smart and focused puzzle game with a really enjoyable emphasis on observation and deduction. I liked learning how the different pieces behave and then using that knowledge to work out safe routes to the goal. The minimalist presentation suits the concept perfectly, and although some puzzles can be frustrating, the satisfaction of finally solving them makes the effort worthwhile. Rating: 6.6/10
关卡有趣有创意,但是画风瘆人,就没有那种玩下去的欲望
