Escape from Tarkov

I’m a dad. My gaming time is limited. I might get a couple hours after the kids go to bed, and apparently I’ve decided the best way to spend those precious hours is getting absolutely destroyed in Escape from Tarkov. I’m a new player, and I can confidently say this is the most challenging game I’ve ever played. Tarkov does not care about you. There’s no hand-holding. The maps are confusing. The extracts are confusing. Ammo matters. Armor matters. Sound matters. The direction you’re looking matters. The random bush you walked past 10 minutes ago apparently matters because there’s a guy sitting inside it waiting to ruin your night. I’m still terrible. I still have no idea where I am half the time. I still occasionally hear footsteps and immediately panic. But I haven’t been this addicted to learning a game in years. 10/10 — Put the kids to bed, pour a drink, spend 20 minutes building a kit, and lose it in 90 seconds. See you tomorrow night.
