This game has a really cool idea and concept, and in execution it can be rather engaging, however, this game has very much been abandoned for years, with only a few vague posts about it on Twitter about a Steam Deck update and the possibility of getting more content (at the expense of other things), along with the main people who worked on the game (SkyVu) already doing other projects by this point. RocketSnail himself seems to have a hard time managing projects and keeping things in check, usually piling himself with way too many projects which leads to having to jump between them constantly, leaving games that aren't up to a point where they can naturally sustain themselves to stagnate and slowly crumble away while he works on the next project and so on. The servers are almost always dead, and the few times you can get into a game, it's either with friends or with one other random person, leading to a lot of periods where you're stuck in the lobby unable to play any games. The movement at times can be very janky and hard to manoeuvre, and first person firing is very difficult with how much it rotates, and in terms of the characters themselves, in certain maps they can blend way too much into the environment, leading to situations where you genuinely cannot see your opponent unless it's too late, or they just fired in any direction. TL;DR, This game definitely has/had potential and could work if given the time and care, but I wouldn't bother following it, as any future updates will likely be lead with things slowing down to a snail's crawl again or outright abandonment.
Warning: Microtransaction infested cash grab! This game is infested with a toxic mobile app style cash shop. You will be prompted to and expected to give money to the developers through this cash shop to buy in-game goods so you can play the game.
Battle Snails/Epic Snails (always a good sign when the developer doesn't know what their game is called) is an abandoned Early Access PvP arena shooter, and also completely dead. It's a third person PvP arena shooter where you control a snail with guns (whatever) in a very lame attempt to rip off games like Worms3D, only with snails, and deplorably bad quality, and toxic microtransactions. There's no players and the developers abandoned the game when they discovered their pointless and playerless PvP arena shooter wasn't going to go viral. The developers abandoned this 1 year and 9 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. Despite not being able to finish the game, the developers apparently had all the time in the world to build that fully functional cash shop, and financial transaction back-end system into the game. That shows the developers primary goal was just to set out to gouge cash from Steam gamers just like mobile devs do with mobile peasants. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
