Before I played Endlanders : First Encounter, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good

Endlanders: First Encounter

Interesting concept, stunning visuals. Definitely giving good premise to start discovering the world and why you are there. Combat was hard to grasp at first but the deck altering aspect and landing combos was satisfying. Found it very frustrating to play on PC. Yes, I saw the recommendation at the start but the option to keybind would make the gameplay more comfortable. Also, despite finding the new checkpoint, it didn't set that new area as a respawn point (might be down to me missing the dialogue box if there was an explanation). Would be nice to know if my progress is being saved. There's a few bugs. I did get softlocked in one area where I got into a spot and couldnt get out, needing me to go back to main menu. I don't remember how to do it consistently but theres been a few occasions where I ended up moving while in my inventory. Considering it's a demo, I'm sure there will be fixes if there is a final version. All in all, it needs better execution but it has potential.

The game is pretty cool ya daft punks
Buggy mess, convoluted design. It's a real-time card battle game. The biggest issue is you don't get to know what your cards do mid-combat and good Eff'n luck trying to understand how to manage your deck, cause I'm pretty sure there flat out isn't a way to do that despite there being a screen suggesting you to do stuff. I've played for less than an hour and got softlocked twice. One locked in the inventory that I couldn't back out of, and one where it made it that i couldn't move while in combat forever. From the bugs, to the wonky design. . . the game just lacks any and all polish. Free or not, it's just. . . annoying to try and figure out. It just. . . it needs an overhaul. This isn't one of those instances where it "gets better later on". This is a "the foundation is just bad" instance. Maybe I just don't know how to play the game, but it should be the job of the game to make it blatantly apparent. . . which it doesn't bother to do even remotely. Full game isn't out yet, but if they don't update the demo to prove that the full game won't feel like trash like this did then I can't do anything more than call this sloppy garbage that you should avoid, even if free.

Broken demo. It bugged where the game wouldn't give me the "Acid" to progress through the game. I had to delete my save to fix it after running around wondering if I missed something. Also the controls for controller are a hit or miss too. The "glitch skill" wouldn't toggle on/off for me(it just ate HP) and I couldn't bring up the map on controller either. This game is best played on keyboard to avoid controller issues. The visuals are good, and the combat is okay. But the UI and sound department needs a lot of work.
