cave divers (abandoned site explorers) when they find a 1mm hole (highly dangerous, decomposing house) be like:
I wont pretend to have any idea if the story is good as I skipped it all. I can say that the achievements work and are very easy to get.
This one's more of a "maybe" than an enthusiastic recommend. There are a lot of problems with this one, not necessarily tied to it having been a gamejam game. Imho, Paxton's route was pretty bland, and it continually referenced an event that never happened in the game —he keeps apologizing for accidentally giving Alex whipped cream (she's lactose intolerant) which we never see happen. Apart from that, it wasn't too bad. Finn, though. As much as I hate to dislike a goth love interest, Finn kinda sucks. From the first kiss (written in a horribly cringy way, I might add), where he gives Alex a nonconsensual kiss when she's already scared about being on some very precarious footing in order to make her feel... safer?? To his continual blatant disregard of her comfort, and the comfort of the rest of his friends, in his doing dangerous ♥♥♥♥. Which, to be fair, does end up getting addressed. But the fact that doesn't happen until the guy nearly gets himself killed is a problem. The main problem with Finn is that his route dives into some deeply dark content. Which is not a problem in and of itself, but I would have appreciated a warning on the game's page for discussion of depression and suicidal ideation. What's worse, and very deeply uncomfortable, is that Finn
jokes about his numerous failed suicide attempts.
I almost dropped his route then and there, but what can I say, I wanted the achievements and the pretty CGs. I really feel like a gamejam game entirely done in a short timeframe is not the place to write such a deep topic, because in the end, it feels like very little care was given to it. On the other hand, Zaina's route was actually pretty cute, and almost the sole saving grace of the game for me. Plus, it IS a free game (with easy to nab achievements for hunters out there), so there's that! None of the routes are very long, either. If anybody's on the fence about the game, I'd say Zaina's route is worth a playthrough at least.

I liked the premise of this one, but to me there weren't enough dialogue options. There were several points during which a character asked Alex a question, which would have been a good place to allow a choice at least for flavor, but up until the first night Alex explores with the group, there were absolutely zero choices to be made. Even with the text speed turned up, getting through the first part was a slog, and even once we met up with the rest of the group there were too few choices to keep me interested. I don't know, maybe I'm missing the point of what a visual novel is supposed to be, but considering this was a video game instead of a graphic novel or a fic over on AO3, I expected a little more interactivity.
Enamored Risks is a story about a college student whose life revolves around studying to become successful. She's also an emotional wreck, which is quite relatable. Art I like the art style, but I wouldn't say that I love it. There's not much variation between the backgrounds, not even a colour difference. It seems like a failed opportunity, but oh well! They are nice to look at, I'll give it that. Characters As for the characters, there were more misses than hits. I only went for one route because I wasn't interested in the other characters. They made the main character feel uneasy, so I thought they wouldn't be a good fit for her. Speaking of which, Alex grew on me over time. I thought that she was a little too judgemental for my taste, but found out there were some redeeming qualities to her character. She's also anxious, which I can relate to. Finn is a disaster waiting to happen. I thought his relationship with Alex to be odd, especially when you have that first interaction with them. She knows him well enough to know
his sleeping habits, but not what his hobbies are?
That's more than a little strange. Unless they've not known each other for a long time. But how could they not? It's never mentioned if this is or isn't the case. By all accounts, it doesn't make sense. Paxton is the character I romanced because he was lovely and Alex was comfortable around him. Based on those things, I thought they would make a great couple. It was a bonus when I found out that he's a
writer for D&D campaigns
because I can relate to the former of that. Of course, I can't say that I'm too surprised by it. Zaina had the potential to be great, but the interaction I had with her was less than stellar. I liked her at first because she had a no-nonsense attitude. However, I didn't like her teasing Alex. It's fine when she does that towards Finn or Paxton, as they're her friends and that's the dynamic. But when you bring someone new who isn't a part of it yet, it feels rather awkward. It's less fun and more mean. Music The music is all right, if a little repetitive. I have nothing much to complain about or compliment. Story The one issue I had with the story was the reason for why Alex was interested in exploring abandoned buildings. This is something that isn't established. At least not in the route I did. Or before that, when it should have been mentioned. It feels like it comes out of nowhere and seems uncharacteristic for her. I think this would have worked even if you gave a simple reason. Like, she has an interest in history! There could've been a mention that she misses the subject because she enjoyed it. But she couldn't stray from the path that her parents put her on. That would have worked. I know why Finn, Paxton, and Zaina explore them. So it truly feels jarring that we don't get to know the reason for why Alex does other than “she has always had an interest” which feels lazy to me. But again, I didn't explore the other routes, and it may have been mentioned there. Even if that's the case, it's a little too late. Other than that, I didn't mind the story. It was pleasant. I liked the route that I did. It was cute! Text Not much that I can say about the writing here except that certain sentences need a rewrite and some words should be removed. There are also way too many commas. Some sentences were very obviously the same length, which made the reading feel a little dull. Overall, not too bad. I'd give it a 6/10. TL;DR Enamored Risks is less high-risk, and more high-reward!
good cute little game took me four hours to play through all the routes (peak achievement names) side note: my IRL bf calls me the nat 20 of his life <3 love the storyline very good and well written
i heart lesbians <3
