I like writing
If I had to sum this game up in one word, it would be "decent". The concept is good, but the amount of content falls spectacularly short. With only three possible "worlds" to explore and use as inspiration, the novelty wears off pretty fast. It's definitely good for the occasional writing exercise, but I feel like this game would benefit immensely from more content. I really wish I could recommend it, but this game is not worth $15.
Seems like an interesting game, but freezes any time that I try to publish or access my stories. This unfortunately makes the game unplayable. I'm guessing this is due to some server issue and I'm hoping that it will get resolved. Until then this game should be a hard pass for everyone.

"Elegy for a Dead World" is not really a game, it's a simple 2D scroller interspersed with writing prompts. You're expected to write some kind of story (which is apparently published). You can read other people's stories. You can write stuff for free and have people read it on all kinds of internet forums. There's no gameplay here either, it's just moving around between writing prompts. Because this isn't really a game, it's impossible to recommend to gamers. Also, charging $15 USD for a non-game? What a joke.
A game designed for people who love to write and want to find a bit of guidance or inspiration to do so. 10/10
Tedious as hell. All this is is a glorified mad-lib. They say it's a game about writing fiction, but it's more of a game about filling in the blanks, then the computer spits it back out to you.
Great idea for a game, but way too short. Got this game for free in whatever bundle. I would have been frustrated to pay over 15$ for it.
After having played it, I can honestly say...this isn't a game. Not at all. That's no slam against Dejobaan at all. but it's not a game. It's a writer's tool, a software toy, or what have you, but it's not a game. As a writer, this is indispensable - I've used it a few times to clear mental writing blocks and to look at how others handle the constraints (in free form mode, with a max of 1000 words to be able to work with, yeah, there are constraints). But that's to be expected. I also wish there were more than just three worlds; after you're done with them, you're pretty much done with it, if you look at this as a game. Maybe in the future, Dejobaan will consider creating other worlds? In any case, this cries out for expansion. But it's not a game at all. Regardless, it's got my upvote and my enthusiastic suggestion to try it out.
This game has some great ideas, but it suffers from the reality that there are too many games that will compete for your time. The players each write messages or parts of a story and then you uncover different stories that is composed of other's compositions. Unfortunately, no one is playing this game anymore. Cool concept, but as the nature with online games, it requires a player base.
