Before I played Electro Ride Prologue, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
Electro Ride Prologue is a racing game that immediately stands apart from genre standards by building its entire identity around a creative alternate-history concept. Developed by Sylwester Osik and published by Garage 5 together with Kurki.games, the title offers players a preview of a larger arcade racing experience while presenting a world where Eastern Europe evolved along a very different path. Instead of realism-driven motorsport competition or collections of modern hypercars, the game embraces retro-futurism, synthwave aesthetics, and nostalgic automotive culture to create something far more unusual. The setting does much of the heavy lifting in making Electro Ride Prologue memorable. The game imagines a version of Europe where the political changes that shaped modern history never happened, allowing Eastern Bloc countries to evolve into technologically advanced societies while maintaining their distinctive identity. Neon lighting dominates city streets, retro-inspired architecture blends with futuristic technology, and familiar historical spaces are transformed into glowing racing playgrounds. This combination creates an atmosphere that feels both nostalgic and futuristic at the same time. One of the game's most appealing features is its car selection. Rather than relying on luxury performance vehicles that appear in countless racing titles, Electro Ride Prologue focuses on automobiles inspired by classic Eastern European engineering. Cars inspired by iconic vehicles from Poland, East Germany, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, and the Soviet Union receive modernized interpretations enhanced by vibrant visual customization. The concept gives the game personality while introducing players to a less explored side of automotive history. Driving mechanics lean toward accessibility and fast-paced entertainment instead of simulation complexity. Vehicles respond with an intentionally arcade-focused handling model that encourages aggressive cornering and stylish drifting. Precision realism is not the objective here. The goal is speed, flow, and enjoyment. Controls remain approachable enough for casual players while still offering enough responsiveness to make mastering corners and maintaining momentum satisfying. The neon-based progression mechanics add another layer to races beyond simple positioning. Players gather collectible elements during competition that influence visual effects and racing flow, helping individual races feel more dynamic. Combined with energetic course design, the system gives races a rhythm that complements the game's visual presentation. Success often depends on balancing speed with smooth movement through tracks rather than relying solely on raw acceleration. Visual presentation becomes one of Electro Ride Prologue's strongest achievements. Bright neon lighting fills roads and city environments without overwhelming visibility, while retro-futuristic styling gives every location a distinct identity. The artistic direction successfully captures a synthwave-inspired atmosphere that feels consistent from beginning to end. Rather than chasing photorealism, the game embraces style and creativity, which ultimately helps it leave a stronger impression. Music also contributes heavily to the experience. Electronic influences dominate the soundtrack, reinforcing both the futuristic setting and the arcade racing energy. Fast driving sections feel more exciting because of how effectively the audio complements gameplay. The soundtrack and visuals work together to create a racing experience driven by atmosphere as much as mechanics. As a prologue release, content limitations naturally exist. The game functions primarily as an introduction rather than a complete package, offering selected race environments and systems designed to showcase what the larger project intends to deliver. Players receive enough content to understand the vision, but those seeking extensive progression systems or large amounts of variety may reach the current boundaries relatively quickly. Some players may also find the handling model overly forgiving compared to simulation racers. Vehicle control prioritizes accessibility over technical driving depth, which may not satisfy players looking for highly demanding racing systems. However, this design choice aligns well with the game's arcade-focused philosophy. Electro Ride Prologue is designed to deliver style, speed, and atmosphere rather than motorsport authenticity. What ultimately makes the game successful is its originality. Racing games frequently compete by offering larger car rosters, bigger maps, or more realistic physics. Electro Ride Prologue instead focuses on delivering a distinct identity. The alternate-history setting, Eastern European automotive inspirations, and retro-futuristic visual style combine to create something uncommon within the genre. Even in its smaller introductory form, Electro Ride Prologue demonstrates ambition and creativity. It presents an arcade racer built around personality rather than familiarity, offering players a vibrant experience that feels different from mainstream competitors. While some mechanical depth remains limited due to its prologue structure, the game's artistic vision and atmosphere provide enough value to leave a lasting impression. Rating: 7/10
