Dying Light

I played this game a long time ago with the intention of doing another run trough alone to get a sort of "solo" opinion on it, but have not found the time nor motivation to do so. This is not so much a reflection on the game however, as there were so many amazing things that I enjoyed about the title! First of all, what stands out to me the most is the music. I absolutely loved every piece of music and so many were memorable. At the time, I recall saying "I am going to put Rais' elevator music on my playlist." Gameplay was also pretty good! While I am not the biggest fan of the parkour nor the controls, I did find it entertaining and quite often challenging. I tried hard mode and have no idea how one could do a playthrough like that. The story is where my praises stop. Rather generic, where the main female love interest is kind of a dumbass, along with the main character also being a dumbass. So many times I was annoyed with it that I found it hard not to laugh at a lot of the decisions that were made in relation to the dialogue as well as the plot. Further, some characters were given moments that were meant to make you care for them and then later killed off, and it was simply too quick of a buildup for me to have any stakes in terms of feeling for them. Moving on; graphically, still holds up! Kind of buggy though, but nowhere near enough to make it much of a critique. Character designs were good, if sexualized at times, and had some unique concepts. Overall, this is an amazing game. I highly recommend it, especially since it goes on such deep sales all of the time. I will be buying the second once it does the same, and then the third as well.
