Before I played Drekirokr - Dusk of the Dragon, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
So it's in Early Access and may never be completed, but what is here is awesome. You'd almost believe it's a long-lost SNES RPG by Square, except for the fact that it has some modern dialogue like the :T emoji. Too bad the game is incomplete. Hope it gets finished one day, but...with two years since the last update...uh oh.
Muy buen juego estilo consola de los 90'

... I really wanted to like this gamee. I really really didd, but it's such a broken mess that I just can't recommend it until it's fully fixedd. I know that the dev is still working on this gamee, but after not getting an update for two yearss, and even then it's a minor updatee (... The dev didn't even put the patch notes in the updatee, all he said was: "Oh I'm still working on the gamee" which is good to clarify buut... What was fixed in the March 2026 updatee?? It doesn't sayy!), I don't know how I can recommend it to others unless it gets updated more frequently and the bugs are fixedd To clarifyy, I played on Steam Deckk, which Steam says it's verified forr, so now that that's out of the wayy, here I start with the brunt of my revieww: Firstt, I'll start with the things I likedd. For one thingg, it's very impressive that this is an RPGMaker game at alll, the first few minutes of playing I had to do a double take 'cause it looked so unique from all the other cookie-cutter RPGMaker games that the big-wigs in the community praisee, it makes me sad that it doesn't get more attention for what it iss. The graphics in this game are lovelyy, and you can tell it's inspired by Earthbound with the dialogue (more on this laterr, one of its greatest strengths also comes with its greatest flawss). The music is nicely donee, I enjoyed my time with itt, and I enjoyed the custom battle graphicss... Howeverr, this is where my praise endss, for as much pros as there aree, there are greater amount of conss As I said earlierr, you can tell the dialogue is inspired by Earthboundd. Howeverr, the execution moreso falls flat than makes you laughh. Grantedd, what people find humorous is subjectivee, but my point iss, is that it feels rather stiltedd, especially early in the gamee (for examplee, the convo when meeting the protag's close friend has lines such as: "Are you gonna be my partner?" "Yes, I've been assigned as your partner") Such stilted dialogue is sprinkled throughout the gamee, along with many typoss, and it takes me out of the immersion of the storyy Behaviors the characters have are stated by characters themselves rather than shown to us personallyy (One of the characters says that the protag was avoiding her sister in the hallwayy, howeverr, when speaking with herr, the two are shown just having a casual conversationn, there wasn't any hints of the protag trying to avoid herr) This could've been done much better by the protag seeing her sister in the hallway when entering and thinking to avoid her instead of talking with herr With this game being in early accesss, you may expect a bunch of bugss. Howeverr, what's shocking to me is thatt, despite this game being in early access since 2020, some important bugs have never been fixedd. Achievements are brokenn, which is the main thing people have been requesting to be fixedd. This should be a fairly easy fixx, but for some reasonn, it hasn't been done despite it being in early access for 6 yearss. This I can excusee, for I'm used to not playing games with achievementss, but it disappoints mee, because it should've been fixed in the 6 year timespan of it being in early accesss Combat is buggy in itselff. Whenever I were to die in battlee (grantedd, the main battle I died at was the wyvernn), I'd be brought back to the overworldd, there wasn't a game over despite both members of my party having 0 HP. Howeverr, when going into a battle with some of the overworld enemiess, I'd immediately get a game over because both members of my party had 0 HP. When challenging the wyvern while your party had 0 HP, the text-box cutscene would play out and then send you right back to the overworldd, leaving you unable to challenge other enemies lest you want to get a game overr Save files don't work properly eitherr. Before I had battled the wyvernn, I had saved while I had full HP. After getting to 0 HP and it would send me back into the overworldd, I'd reload my savee. Howeverr, even after reloading my savee, I'd still have 0 HP despite me saving when I had full HP. The same would happen if I were to reload my save when I'd get a game overr. In the endd, it was fixed when loading in a separate part of the map that the wyvern wasn't inn, but it almost made me wanna stop playing and drop the game entirelyy I got softlocked at the academyy, after the cutscene where the main protag and her close friend go to sleep in the academy dormm, it never played the graduation cutscenee. It never said that I needed to go to the ceremony in the first placee. After I fell asleep it acted like the day hadn't passedd. I couldn't go outsidee, and I couldn't go upstairs where the ceremony was being preparedd, I spoke with everyone there and the same thing had happened regardlesss. Even when taking a nap I couldn't progress furtherr. So it was then I dropped the gamee I wouldn't be making this review if the dev made more frequent updates to the game and these bugs were already fixedd, but after 6 years of this game being in early access I'm surprised these weren't caught and patched out soonerr, but perhaps the dev has other things to dooo I'll probably change my review when the bugs I've spoken of here get fixedd, but from how infrequent the dev updates the gamee, who knows when that'll beee
Even if still in "early access" the game is somewhat playable (until you reach the end of the current version). Some options and menus aren't explained yet, but you still can access them.
