About

In Dream Slayers, Nightmares are more than enemies, they're the echoes of fear, regret, and chaos. Face cursed knights and shifting beasts, each more twisted than the last. Conquer the darkness to uncover the truth… or be consumed by it.

In Dream Slayers, power is earned through what you find and how you forge it. Discover powerful weapons in the Dream World, then enhance and customize them to suit your style. Enchant gear, refine stats, and build a loadout that evolves with every raid.

In Dream Slayers, extraction is survival. Venture into the Dream World to claim rare relics and arcane loot but the deeper you go, the deadlier it gets. Time your escape, trust your instincts, and remember: only what you extract becomes real.

The Dream World is brutal, don’t face it alone. In Dream Slayers, you and your squad fight to survive and build a legacy. With up to four slayers, Team up, combine skills, and watch each other’s backs. With the right allies, even the impossible becomes possible.

I want to start out by saying: Just because a game is free, that does not mean it has the right to be this awful and soulless. I have seen too many people say that there was so much time and effort put into this... Yeah there is no effort in this whatsoever. The only way this "game" could have taken around a year is if the engine itself was created from scratch, then after it was finished, they only came back to it every week for about five minutes each time. There is no effort, there is no way this took any less than a collective week, do not believe the lies and do not play it. The animations do not work, they would not look nice even if they did. The artstyle is the most generic of all fantasy-based games on steam. You start as an ugly character, and apparently there is a character creator but you have to actually play a chunk of the "game" to unlock that. Otherwise known as, they did not know how to put it at the start of the "game", and instead of putting in the effort to learn, they took the lazy way out to make a clunky barely-working editor later into the "game." Second worse game I have ever spent my time on.
Seems to have potential, combo system is kinda cool, especially for a button masher like me. Definitely rough around the edges and is clearly in early stages of dev, but as is it's fun to kill time with, expecting it to get better as time goes on.

I can admire any indie dev being willing to go out and really try their hand at something ambitious. For me, I did not last long, as there were a few alarm bells that caused me to put this game down quickly. Firstly, the UI and controls felt unintuitive and unpleasant. Close to passable, but not quite. Graphically the game wasnt bad, but some shortcomings that are easily fixable really made it clear this experience is unpolished. Open doors to buildings you can't enter, oddly scaled assets (like the well near spawn) and unmarked invisible walls, to name a few. Side note, I wasn't actually able to edit my character appearance at the barber while simultaneously being able to look at my face. Lastly, the actual dungeons have underdesigned rooms that feel clearly like a clump of assets smashed together. More effort (with lighting) could've really made Dream Slayers feel like there was reward to exploring various dungeons (of which I saw a few). I won't comment on the combat as it wouldn't be fair for me to do so having spent such short time with the game. Ultimately Dream Slayers is a 'game' in the most utilitarian sense of the word; it is a collection of systems that form a cohesive experience. But what it's missing is the art form. I only played a handful of minutes, so take what I have to say with a HUGE grain of salt. But perhaps you'll find some value in understanding the perspective of someone who was turned away too early. In the end I spent more time writing this review than actually playing the game itself because underneath the gameplay challenges and UI shortcomings, I could sense there was a genuine effort here. It was just not ready yet.
I'm gonna leave a positive review ONLY because I definitely see the potential for a really cool unique game. There is a LOT to do before it's there though. As of now I wouldn't recommend buying it unless your okay with the idea of buying it as an investment in hopes the dev pulls through. Its playable as of now but not for more than like 10-15 minutes. The combat and controls are unintuitive and uncomfortable and there isn't enough of a base game yet for there to be any variety in gameplay or progression. However dungeon games are always cool when done right and the fundamentals definitely seem like they'll be really cool when finished especially multiplayer.
fun game,. sadly doesnt seem to put me on leaderboard, that or im unsure of what the leader board is for. I got a score of 1800 and it never updated for me. This has potential for sure, only bug I ran into was a spirit hound pushed me through a wall and I fell infinitely lol
Simple but elegant game
Hey! I am really interested in this game, i love the style and how it looks. Couple things could get fixed, such as the scoring system and how to pick up loot and such. I really cant wait to see the finished product, but have enjoyed the little time i've spent on it thus far.

Better than a roblox server i guess lmao. Setting changes don't appear to work, namely sensitivity. This kept me from really trying the game, but for one person in a year the fact that it's even this playable is fantastic. Price is right.
