Dragon Bobby is a cute looking exploration game which follows the passage of a man's life from birth until old age. It shares his hopes and dreams; pain and suffering; loss and love and the effects and consequences of his choices. It comes across to me as a celebration of life and it is created by a single developer. The man is depicted as a dragon and as the dragon ages, it is able to eventually glide and then fly. I found the movement very smooth on KB & M. As the collectables mount up, you are able to change the skin and eyes of the dragon. As the man's life unfolds, the environnment the dragon is in changes to reflect the emotions. This is mainly a scavenger hunt of a game where you have to find glowing blue orbs which unlock the passage to the next section. You don't need to find them all unless you desire all the achievements. You also have to search for hidden memories....and believe me...they are well hidden and not easy to find. You really have to search every nook and cranny. Along the way, you encounter some light puzzles which unlock gates or collectables. This is not an easy game as a couple of the chapters are quite hard...namely chapter 2 with the maze and chapter 7 with the desert. You really have to persevere to find everything. There is no combat or anything scary in the game, so it is suitable for children but the subject matter is for children 15 and over. It is a slow burner of a game, so if you're looking for fast action...this is not for you! There is a bit of platforming in later chapters which require timing....not speed, just pushing the button at the right moment. There was one collectable from a tree house which took me about 10 tries to succeed. Gameplay is smooth, but the area with the lava has poor hitboxes with the grass, but that is minor. Music is gentle and fairly benign. Graphics are good, clean and interesting. Bobby has a mind of his own....if he is on an edge of a shelf, he shakes his head and won't move. No way...he is saying! I quite enjoyed this narrative game and I'm sure his story will resonate with many people. I had no motion sickness in this game which I'm delighted about. I got 100% achievements, so it is doable. I double dare you to play this!! 8/10

I can only give respect to the single dev of this little gem of a game, since creating one in Unreal Engine is, to my knowledge, hard already for a team of people, thus having it be done by a single person is just awe-inspiring. While it does have its share of negativities like: -> the dragon´s slowness (which makes sense as a hatchling, but gets pretty gratifying as an adult) -> a potentially game-breaking bug that causes ???s to not be registered properly when dug up (thank all for Chapter Select!) -> no 100% completion reward (sans the achievement) -> some copyrighted music that doesn´t allow streamers to safely stream it I do need to give it a thumbs-up because of -> its pretty inspiring story (at least if you ask me) -> actual challenge if you´re going for 100% completion (be ready for Chapter 2, seriously!) -> most importantly (to me), absolutely awe-inspiring landscapes that you get to visit and explore -> you´re playing as a dragon. Just that. Overall, it might be comparable to The First Tree when it comes to animal exploration games, but it´s a nice little (as you can see by my game-time; 100% in 10´1 hrs) gem that is having the potential in being so much more. Fingers crossed it´s gonna be in time (as long as it´s being the dev´s focus, that is)!
Rewarding exploration as you find out more about a man’s life. This is one of those games that manage to surprise. Despite looking like a platformer, the game has a lot more in common with the walking sim and exploration genre. This becomes obvious the moment you take control of the baby dragon. Since there’s no combat or threats, you could replace it with anything else and the game would remain the same. On the other hand, the reason for playing as a dragon is connected to the story. The game takes you through eleven chapters, each set in a completely different location. The objective in each is to explore and search for glowing orbs. Once you've found enough, you'll be able to unlock the way to the next section of the level or the portal to the next chapter. Finding all orbs is not needed, however it is an activity if you want to grab the game's achievements. Since the game is about exploration, the pace of the game is rather slow. The dragon can jump, but not run. Stages aren't large, but they're also not small, and walking from one end to the other while looking for orbs might be a bit of a nuisance. Furthermore, because there are no dangers in the game, you cannot tumble over the edge and die. The dragon will just pause and shake its head. This can be annoying at times since the dragon will not walk over edges even when there is solid ground below. This can also get you stuck. It happens very rarely, but if you jump near to the edge, the dragon will shake its head and refuse to move. The theme of the game is to explore a man's life. This is shown via panels located along the path. There is always a picture from the man's life and a brief description of an event. It starts with baby ages and continues towards adulthood. Amazing part is that stage style and aesthetics match the life event. Baby years are all colorful and bright, then you go under the sea when you start sinking, and rain when crying. Not all stages are great and almost all make collectibles hard to spot. There are also some weird invisible walls and at least clipping issue that allows you to walk to a spot you're not supposed to go. Assets appear to be borrowed. However, although half of the memories are immediately visible, the other half are hidden somewhere in the world. This is where the fun from exploring comes in. Memories are typically hidden behind puzzles or some secret mechanism that must be activated. It’s not very difficult because you usually have to push blocks, step on switches or create steps. Additional bonus for finding collectibles are skins for your dragon. Two other features demand special mention. The first is the soothing and calm soundtrack, which makes exploration much more enjoyable. And the second are watches you can spot anywhere. They show real time, so you will always know how long you’ve been playing. They come in various shapes, such as digital clocks, small alarm clocks, tower clocks, and many others. The bad news for achievement hunters is that you'll have to search every nook and cranny to find everything. There is no compass or other feature to assist you in locating them. The toughest part, as always, is missing a single collectible that forces you to go through the entire stage again. Another issue is hidden memories, which are distinguished by barely visible sparkles. You might be right next to it and still miss it. There’s one bug connected to hidden memories. Sometimes the game doesn’t give you the memory when you activate the hotspots. This is annoying, but it can be solved by exiting and returning to the stage. That’s the good news. You can return to stages by loading it from the main menu. The best part is that you return to a stage as you left it, which means that doors are open and puzzles solved. Of course, this only involves those you solved. You also won’t have to look for collectibles you’ve already found.

If a beautiful walking simulator with some heart-wrenching story sounds like your kind of good time, then this is a nice little Indie game to consider! Watch the Full Review: https://youtu.be/bCg3DvHUAP8
I got the key for testing the game on Twitch after I applied for it, because the preview already looked so cute. Honestly, my community and I were amazed how great the game is! I had many theories what was going on, I won't spoiler anything now in any way only that I indeed highly recommend the game. Most games I get for testing I would not write any review or at all recommend them, but here clearly thumbs up for Bobby! <3 Love it!
