Dragon Ace Casino is one of those games that immediately tells me exactly what it wants to be. It is a social casino experience built around Baccarat, Blackjack, Texas Hold'em Poker and Slots, with a strong focus on playing with other people. I liked having so many different casino games gathered together because I can switch between them whenever one starts feeling repetitive. The Baccarat tables are probably the biggest highlight for me. The multiplayer setup makes the games feel more social than simply playing against an offline dealer, and the Mass Baccarat format adds a competitive atmosphere with other players taking part at the same time. I also liked the card presentation and the squeeze style features because they help create that casino table feeling without making the basic rules difficult to understand. Blackjack and Texas Hold'em give the package some much needed variety. Blackjack is quick and easy to jump into, while poker gives me more room to think about the decisions I am making. The Slots are obviously much more luck focused, but I enjoyed having them available as a change of pace. The collection of different game types makes Dragon Ace Casino feel more like a casino hub than a single game built around one mechanic. The social features are another important part of the experience. There are leaderboards, tournaments, private tables and opportunities to interact with other players, which makes the game feel more active than a simple collection of card simulations. I also liked that I can play with virtual currency rather than real money, so the progression is based around building up chips and competing for better results within the game. My biggest issue is that the experience can become repetitive once the novelty wears off. There is only so much variation possible when the core activities are established casino games, and the outcome of many rounds is naturally determined by luck. The progression and VIP focused systems also make the experience feel more like a long term social casino service than a traditional game with meaningful character or story progression. I also think the overall presentation is better suited to people who already enjoy casino games. The realistic tables, sound effects and competitive features are convincing, but they do not give me much of a reason to play beyond the gambling style gameplay itself. The free chips and daily rewards help keep things active, although I still found myself enjoying the actual card games more than the surrounding progression systems. Overall, Dragon Ace Casino is a solid social casino package that gives me plenty of familiar games in one place. I liked the multiplayer Baccarat, the variety provided by Blackjack and Poker, and the realistic presentation. It is not especially deep outside of the casino mechanics, but the different modes and social features make it a reasonably enjoyable way to play these games with virtual currency. Rating: 6.5/10
