Double Date - Yuri Visual Novel by Quill Yuri is a cute, refreshing story of how Alice and Sophie meet during a happy little accident while adopting two dogs from a shelter. It captures the insecurities and pressures faced by two women in their mid-twenties in both the workplace and the social space. They are not stellar opposites but their personalities and approach to it all is quite different. The story is about double odd couples because their dogs end up being the opposite personalities from their owners so as the humans are getting to know each other they also have to adapt to living with their dogs as well as the dogs having to get used to their humans. The story is told from the viewpoints of all four characters, often with parts of the same scene being revisited from the others' perspectives. It is actually an effective way of telling the story. The art is of the women is beautifully drawn, portraying their personalities well. The art for the virtually identical dogs (shiba inus) is both adorable and striking while also subtly showing their different personalities. I liked the portrayal of two women who are attracted to each other but are unsure of their feelings and the signals they are receiving from the other person. It is a very emotional time for them and I liked how the story captures the turmoil of such early times. It is also nice that the story is wholesome and romantic. I recommend Double Date Yuri Visual Novel and would hope to see the story continue so I could learn what happens to the likable characters.

I knew I had to play this game as soon as I saw it! The story is super cute and the art is charming as well. I highly recommend checking it out!

as both a yuri and shiba inu lover knew i this was actually well made for my taste. it's short, yet it's comforting and im not ashamed to say im still kicking my feet over sophie and alice's dynamic.

Set in a fictional land called "Canada", Double Date is about two useless lesbians and their dogs trying to make them pair up. Jokes aside, the game is seriously adorable and I wish there was more. Apparently it's an AU for a different game from the same devs, so now I'm curious to play that one as well!
