This game might be tribute to game from 80's. But we are not in 80's anymore - please adapt to modern standards... oh wait, Dev did that by using modern engine and using 100% GPU for this. Because no FPS limit was introduced. Problem with this is basically the limitations. You cannot jump and move at the same time. You either jump up or full left or full right. Nothing in between. Achievements were popping up randomly or just with big delay. (Like couple minutes after death). If those things were addressed and game was slightly more user friendly, it could have been great. The graphics are neat. But that ain't enough in these days.

Brings back memories, a great game.
Love dizzy. Been a fan of the original since I was a lad. Loved the idea of bringing it back but it's not that great. Controls are terrible, sometimes don't want to move even though pressing a direction. No save at all. Checkpoints terrible. Got one checkpoint after a few minutes and now I've done 10 mins and died, I have to go all way back to start. Not worth the frustration even when it's free!!
"Dizzy Two" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This is a badly made 2D retro pixel platformer with an "Egg" theme as you control an egg and platform around a few pixelcrap environments and lose the will to live. This was made in 2021, for crying out loud. Making games badly on purpose is not "cool" or "retro". We've moved on, and we certainly don't need games that are even worse than the games we had from that era. Which is the experience you get from "Dizzy Two", a platformer that's terrible compared to things like Alex Kidd or SMB3. Platforming is an old, mostly dead genre, and this lacklustre experience, while it doesn't have an upfront cost, isn't saving the genre... it's no surprise this failed to capture any attention from gamers in the era of immersive 3D gaming. Sure, there's exceptions like Silksong and Trine, but this is absolute garbage compared to those. The game is really simple and unambitious in terms of implementation, more of a tech demo or one of those cases where an amateur developer spends $100 to publish something on Steam Direct to see if it's possible. Yes, obviously it's possible. A proof of concept, tech demo, or something that's less than a little blip on the radar isn't offering anything truly valuable to gamers. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 14 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Given that this free title won't increase your game collector count, is it worth your time to add it to your library? This is a hard pass. There's no immediate financial commitment, but there are thousands of more compelling games on the platform that will give you a lot more enjoyment for your time.
