An interesting, short game this is that only has one mechanic: click to ensure your protagonist digs a hole. Although the store page refers to it as a clicker game, here achievements are not related to thousands or even millions of clicks and there are no rewards for them, therefore, it is not your usual type of clicker software. After a click a digging animation is being played that lasts for several seconds. Still, if you want, you can use an auto-clicker just to ensure you are done with your playthrough faster and without any hassle. Dig has an eerie atmosphere: someone digging a hole late at night while it is raining cats and dogs. The monochromatic aesthetic only adds to this feeling. As you progress you are gradually becoming slower - you can see that digging a hole is becoming a chore for our "hero". But what is the purpose here? You'll find out once you finish your first walkthrough. I believe the message is Biblical and it can be summed up by the following proverb: "Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; if someone rolls a stone, it will roll back on them." If you have some spare time pick this one up. It is free and easy to complete and get all the 'cheevos. And perhaps it will make you ponder a little about life.

"Dig" is a simple, free clicker game where your objective is to dig a large hole. This game has a character digging a big hole, rain sound effects, 5 possible skins (Default, Santa, Knight, Blob and Samurai) and 4 achievements. It's a very short game as it took me only 8 minutes to finish it, but a few more walkthroughs will be required to get the remaining achievements. It has only one ending and there is a save feature, so you can restart or continue the game from the moment you left off. I would give it a 1/10 difficulty rating as the gameplay is minimal and the instructions are pretty clear during the whole game (you need to dig a big hole by pressing any button). "Dig" is a free, minimalist/monochrome 2D game created in Unity, primarily designed for learning game development and the process of releasing games on Steam. I believe the game carries a deeper message, possibly inspired by the quote: "He who digs a hole for someone will fall in it himself" (Czech Proverb). There are 5 DLCs that you can buy for 79 eurocents each to support the developer and each DLC is offering a different costume/skin or a different shovel. I personally think that this game may be relaxing if played after having a bad day, but some players will definitely find it boring due to its repetitiveness. Despite being a free game, I hesitate to recommend it to other gamers. My concern lies in the potential reduction of visibility for talented developers attempting to showcase their games. This may make it more challenging for gamers to discover genuinely worthwhile titles. On the flip side, if you have 8 minutes to spare and enjoy digging holes, it's worth giving it a try. To dig, or not to dig, that is the question. The gameplay is rather monotone but I liked the overall atmosphere. 6,5/10 - Would dig again. Great game for 100 % completion of all achievements.

Not recommended. I dig the idea, but it's just too shallow to say "try it". What this needs is at least some form of dialogue that you read or listen to while digging the grave. It could be about how the digger is a former mob hitman, undercover secret agent or some other dangerous profession that could catch up with him. As it is, with 5 paid DLC's instead of more in game content, this is not worth your time.
