Diesel Guns

Never got the full treatment it deserved, and is now half-baked abandonware. It's quite sad, as I patiently waited years for a more flushed-out release. A true Twisted Metal spiritual successor is still yet to emerge... This game had a lot of potential, now it lays here decaying.

The game's shortcomings include not being able to select opponent cars in bot lane. There could be larger, more spacious areas. A larger area would allow for 6 or 7 opponents instead of 4. A large missile could be placed in the rear, like the green car in Vigilante 8. Overall, the game is quite good.

* YOU CAN PLAY SINGLEPLAYER WITH BOTS (just turn off servers in the settings). * Playable on Steam Deck (Only title background screen does not show correctly). * It is an Early Access game - DEVELOPMENT STOPPED IN 2020 and I have played ONLY with bots, but it is still better than most vehicular combat games. I definitely recommend this game, but it would benefit if it had some explanations (manual) for the power ups and more maps. * I have listened to a year old interview with the developers who ~said that to attract investors it is more likely 'Diesel Guns 2' will happen than this one be completed. My system: Windows 11, NVidia RTX3060, 16GBDDR4. I think the developers nailed the combat aspect, it is very satisfying when things go right 😊 If you enjoyed 'Full Auto Battlelines 2', 'Twisted Metal', 'Gas Guzzlers Extreme', 'Post Apocalyptic Mayhem' (it is combat racer but still), 'Chaos on Wheels' or any short lived combat racing game like 'NotMyCar' I think you will like Diesel Guns. As someone else said in another Steam review: "I don't care for multiplayer-only games but this is the closest we're going to get to another Twisted Metal." It is much less chaotic game than Twisted Metal PS3 (2012) (and you can play Twisted Metal PS3 2012 on a PC with RPCS3 emulator if you have good enough PC) * 20 vehicles to unlock * Several game modes (Death Match, Team Death Match, Survival, Bombing Run). * 7 maps FOR THE DEVELOPERS: If you make this game a little more Single Player oriented this will be an additional income for your other projects. * Make Steam Achievements like: 'Kill a 10000000 opponents', 'Use a X weapon 10K', 'Earn a Million in Death match mode', 'Earn a 10 Millions in all game modes' etc., these achievements with a green progress bar until it is achieved makes me come back to play really old games. * Add no time limits for battles, or at least make it selectable, for example till 100 kills or 50 kills, 20 minutes, 30 minutes etc. * Make an In Game Manual, video tutorial or at least a PDF Manual explaining pick ups/power ups and mechanics involving environmental hazards: Worm, Bulldozer, Nukes etc. * I do think AI is a little too good at the moment 😊 so EASY, NORMAL, HARD, GODLIKE would be a good progression and different 'Achievements' with each difficulty like in 'Post Apocalyptic Mayhem'. * Different variants of MAPS, looking at alpha/demo videos I noticed interesting differences between them and 0.9.3 version maps I love this game and I had no idea it existed until recently, and I think there are many more like me. Honestly it amazes me I missed this game when it was developed because I played most of the car combat games and would have loved to alpha/beta test it. I still haven't managed to play this game online, I don't know if it's my game or everyone else has this problem.

The game is fun, even tho the weapons can be a bit over powered. the death rate is a bit too much when it comes to events that ins ta kill you or AI. I do like some of the mechanic, it would be nice to have different battle music. one thing I don't like is the auto aim when it comes to bullets, it makes it hard to escape out of a situation when driving away. I would love to see this game improve, also I would like it if your party of friends could fight the bots in the death match. I would recommend trying it out.
