This is a new review as of 7.9.20. First off, if you ever played the original, or even the mods - then you know what this game is all about. Let me tell you though, that there's no way to buy or cheat your way to the top... You have to put in the work, but in the end, it's worth it. The system has changed quite a bit. Diaspora: ME is a re-done version in Unreal Engine 4.21, and the toughest ships are... you guessed it, the Helios Behemoth. The Nisus/Talos 2 ships were taken out, and replaced with the Moros and Hyperion class ships. In order to advance and get better ships, you need to gain XP. To gain XP you need to either complete quests, or kill AI ships. You probably want to stick with killing ships that are bad, and will give you reputation, instead of take it. If your reputation is in the neg, you will be SOS to good AI bots. There are now quests available to help give you XP or DC when you complete them, and they also introduce you to the game if you are new to Dia, in any version. There is now a research ability in the Pilot section of your HUD/GUI on any planet - you will use this to increase your jump speed, jump range, cargo amt, damage, bounty hunting activation. Research takes time, and it varies between each skill. There are 3 tiers of ships: Tier 1: Zephyr, Arachne, Nisus Tier 2: Nereid, Moros, Talos Tier 3: Hyperion, Endymion, Helios Ship types: Fighter, Carrier, Hunter, Attacker, Freighter, Destroyer, and Behemoth. (From weakest to strongest) Obviously, the better the tier, and the more it costs = better ship (unless you want to fit something else, but that's your choice). The levels max out at 18, but you can read more about that in your hanger. At your home world, your hanger can have up to 6 ships, and idk, but a lot of equipment and mods. There's a lot more, but I just don't feel like typing that much atm. I'll add more when I can :D If you do decide to play, hit me up in game as Dekay, Callidus, and/or FionaFears, and I am CEO of one of the strongest guilds in the game, Abandon All Hope. I can help with practically anything and everything, but please don't expect babying or coddling. I'm not just going to give people hand outs and /or help them if they don't expect to continue to play. Currently the game is lacking players, but that only means more open trade lanes, easier mining, and faster xp as not sharing popular nodes.
Can´t play....allways stuck on a blackscreen after login, or just on connecting to server.......
would love to play it, but cant as the second i try to create an account or log in, it crashes.
Pretty cool, took me a moment to figure out couldn't go 3rd person. After that got the hang of it real fast. I really enjoy it, the ability to go around fighting if you want, or mining, or even transporting. Wish I could either setup autojump routes, or at least make pathing jump or two ahead even. Only complaint which i've been trying to isolate is sometimes.. the ship interface (buttons) become unclickable forcing me to relaunch. all in all love the game:)
great game .

Everything
long time player of all the versions. its just nice to see those stars again... though a couple updates could make it easier chat wise which i think they was developing other than that i wouldnt mind a graphical option that lets players choose between a more simple setup when landed to navigate things like finding out where your exp count is (small little tiny button top right of the ship icon when first landing is hard to see) but maybe a option of back to basic that shows all names of where you want to go, then sub menus beyond that. otherwise its looking good.
