Peak game. Over 8000+hours on this franchise over console and pc.
10/10 would play this over marathon.
I did just about everything in this game and loved it, if you haven't played before, I'd give it a try.
Where do I start? Destiny has been one of the most meaningful games to me in my entire life.... and I have played a lot of games. Since September 9th, 2014, I have been playing Destiny, and I have never thought there would be a day where it would finally conclude. The feeling of mystery and self-exploration in the beginning felt like a whole other world to me at the ripe age of twelve years old. My first ever exotic weapon, "Thorn," will always give me chills running down my spine. Three-tapping Guardians with my favorite PVP exotic, "The Last Word," in Crucible, or shooting "Gjallarhorn" at a raid boss and seeing the wolf pack rounds ignite always put a smile on my face. What made this game so sacred to me and others was that it took you out of reality and into this bubble of an apocalyptic sci-fi world that inspired hope by beating a raid boss, completing a Nightfall strike, and clutching up against a 1v3 in Trials of Osiris. The game offered so much variety, which also made the game so special. Too much Raiding for the day? Play some Trials. Too much Crucible? Play some PVE. Want this weapon? Play this activity to get the God Roll. The list goes on and on for me to type, but it shows how many hours you can spend in this FPS, RPG, MMO, whatever you want to call it, Greatest video game of all time. But the most exciting thing to do in Destiny was achieving the maximum light level. I mean, this was a competition that wasn't announced between your friends and clan mates, but it was universally felt. The memories I will always cherish in my heart. Some of my favorite memories include completing my first raid, "Vault of Glass," with a bunch of 30-year-olds when I was 12 and obtaining "Vex Mythoclast"; clutching up countless times in Trials; hiding from bosses during D1 Nightfalls and completing it (D1 Nightfalls were ten times harder than D2's); laughing with friends at randoms; completing seals; Duo Flawlessing "Deep Stone Crypt" and other raids; and always awaiting the hype towards the next expansion. When I first heard Destiny was ending, I was not sad but grateful. Grateful that I got to play it for all these years and create so many memories that I would not trade for anything. It was bittersweet, and the music from the final trailer made me shed a tear. Hope is the whole theme of Destiny, and I will continue to believe that Destiny 3 will happen. "Hope for the Future" by Paul McCartney :) So many memories and so much change in 12 whole years. Thank you, Bungie, for making this game and making my days a lot better when they were not the best. Thank you, Joe, Jacob, Elion, former clanmates, and, of course, the randoms for the laughs ;) See you Starside, Guardians <3 2014–2026 𝓖𝓣
