love it so far 7/10
Destiny has long been a part of my life, a shame its over for now. I hope it is only for now. The new player start is not good and the story is fairly hard to understand due to the story being moved in the seasons which are now gone. But should you give the game a chance even solo like I have there is a fun so deep in here that yes, I've given 2000 hours of my life to the game and I don't regret a moment of it. If you decide to go looking for friends to play with, I'm sure you'll find them. Eyes up Guardian
Man this game was and is a blast. I got caught with it late in its life but man it gave me some good memories.
huge game
12 years of my life on this beautiful game through the up's and down's.
I've played Destiny 2 since release. I became hooked right away. The story is immense and all the characters have a thorough backstory. My favourite thing about destiny were the raids. You'd team up with people, sometimes strangers, to complete complicated puzzles while fighting for your life. These raids gave me memories that will stay with me for life. The struggle, the laughter and fun I've had with people in it are priceless. The people that made the raids were seriously next level. Every raid felt unique and had such interesting encounters. I had the best time when trying to do flawless raids where you couldn't die, to then near the end of a Deep Stone Crypt flawless run take a quick toilet break and trip over my headphone cable and freeze my pc and ruin the run for everyone. Sadly throughout the years it wasn't always fun. The season release was always great for a few weeks, and then the extra filler seasons were repetitive and became more shallow as the game went on. It was always a thing to interact with, that gave you quests and you had to upgrade it. We got less and less interaction with characters, they eventually only had audio and showed up as a hologram. Cheaper to animate, less effort, less soul. I played them anyway because of FOMO and I paid money for it. But that eventually became a chore. Content got removed so I couldn't play at my own pace. I had to finish a season or season pass before it ended because I otherwise could never play it again. The 'never again' part really kills fun. I was lucky that I had created a clan with a friend from the start. That kept us coming back. The clan grew big and we made a lot of friends through this. However the game made it real hard to stay around for everyone in the clan, because there usually just wasn't much to do in the game. Not enough new. You were basically paying 25money-ish for an expansion that did not give as much content as a similarly priced full game could. Great business model but it didn't feel good to regularly not get the value for what you paid for. I will always love Destiny 2 and I am actively mourning the experiences that were such a huge part of my life. The world building was absolute perfection. I fear I'll never get to immerse myself into a world this much ever again. What a great project you were, thanks for these years. You just never quit do you? Took out Ghaul, woke up the traveller and now half of what I hear on the streets is how much you and your clan are making a difference...
