Desktop Explorer

Yeah this game rules. I love the fake desktop sim style of games and this is the most robust of them, generally anything you'd expect to be able to do in an early 00's OS you can do here. The puzzles get complex, the horror is less bombastic than you might expect, it's more mystery/thriller than horror, and generally the vibes are sick.

I have a great love for puzzle and detective games and this blew me away. Its puzzles were fun and indeed challenging but nothing too insane. The story was very good and I really liked the ending. Overall, I think that anybody that likes computers or puzzle games should give this one a try.

Simplistic and boring compared to others in the genre. The only reason I didn't get a refund is that this came in a bundle with the excellent The Incident at Galley House, and I didn't want to juggle bundles.

I wish I could put more money into the game. It's so well made and intriguing, I could've kept playing for an eternity. Unfortunately every great experience has to come to an end. I really wish I could experience the whole game anew, knowing nothing and letting the amazing game and puzzle design guide me. I wholeheartedly recommend Desktop Explorer to everyone that's into great puzzle/riddle games (and anyone who likes ASMR around the use of a computer :D).

A unique, ambitious puzzle game that feels fresh and delivers brilliant "aha" moments throughout. I had to look up hints a couple times (and was glad I did), but the rare puzzles that felt like stretches were outweighed by the many memorable highs.
