This game is a incredible feat of challenge, mystery and slight bits of horror. Through and through its grasps your attention till the very end, wish it was alittle spookier but still a great game much worth the price!!!

I absolutely love this game. The fake operating system is such a good setting, and I love digging through all of its files, text stories, strange little programs, and text-based adventures while the psychological horror slowly works its way in. Everything feels connected in a way that makes exploring the desktop itself part of the puzzle, and piecing together what happened has been incredibly satisfying. The games are completely different, but the puzzle buildup occasionally reminds me of Outer Wilds. You might encounter something that makes no sense at first, then much later remember an earlier clue, piece the two together, and suddenly have that “oh, I get it now” moment that makes you feel like an absolute genius. That process of slowly building knowledge and making connections has been one of my favorite parts of Desktop Explorer. A couple puzzles have been confusing enough that I needed a small push in the right direction, but so far nothing has felt unfair or completely impossible. I still have a little bit left to finish, but this is already pretty much exactly what I want from a puzzle game. It is weird, creepy, clever, and constantly rewarding your curiosity. It is arguably one of the best puzzle games I have played in a very long time, and I cannot wait to see where the rest of it goes.
