Road to Legend is a companion app for the Descent: Journeys in the Dark 2nd edition board game. When you play with Road to Legend, the app assumes the role of the overlord player, controlling monsters and inviting you to explore the dungeon in entirely new and unexpected ways.

YOU NEED THE PHYSICAL BOARD GAME TO PLAY WITH THIS APP. If you don't already own the board game, don't bother. And be aware that every mission has a hidden round timer that you can't see, until it announces that you will lose unless you complete the mission in two rounds. More on that below. This app takes the most unpleasant part of Descent, which is wrangling together other people to play, and makes that totally optional. Now instead of having to Overlord/DM, you have an automated Overlord who structures together the quest quite well, and adds in a new element to the game: actual surprise. You don't know what's coming next! Normally in this game, all players know what is coming and when. Thanks to this app, you don't! Here's how the tutorial mission plays: Game: "You encounter a pile of spawning zombies" I destroy them. Game: "Some giant wolves show up and bark at you." What? Okay, I start murdering them. Game: "The wolves flee this turn." Wait what? Game: "Now there are two cultists and a giant ettin who've shown up behind you to murder you. Kill that ettin to win." Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! I really enjoy that. Unfortunately, playing the game more, I've discovered that each mission has a hidden round timer that you can't see. The timer gets delayed when you perform mission objectives, kill monsters, open doors, etc, but it will keep ticking down on turns you don't. And if you take too long it will make an announcement that you have exactly 2 rounds to complete the mission, or you fail. So all of the missions become stressful. Don't play this game if you want to relax or progress methodically. You can run a campaign with as many heroes as you want to control. I'm starting with two, because of the recent rule changes for two heroes, and because I am playing this myself. So far, so good. If you want to have friends play with you, consider adding more heroes into your campaign. The shop system is good. You aren't punished for spending on upgrades early, because you can sell items for full price later. The exp system is good, seems a bit generous in the tutorial campaign. Standard rules apply, and the game tells you how to handle monster actions. It takes getting used to, especially depending on how familiar you are with the rules of the game. Goofs will happen, but you'll roll with it. The campaign gives you time for side quests or special town actions between story quests, and The content is dynamically generated based on the sets of the board game you own, which determine what effects and pieces and monsters you own. Even though I only own the base game, and have trouble getting a group of people together to play it, now I'm seriously considering buying more sets to have more of this to enjoy in Road to Legend. I somewhat recommend this, but the hidden timers on missions is a serious downside.
Es genial para jugar en solitario o con amigos.
