A surreal first-person platformer horror game where you descend into nightmarish architecture, solve spatial puzzles, and survive grotesque creatures.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.
About
DepthLess does not follow a traditional story.
Instead, it delivers a deeply atmospheric experience — a descent through surreal, decaying environments filled with disturbingly unnatural creatures and oppressive silence.
There are no dialogues, cutscenes, or exposition.
Every step forward leads you deeper into environments that become increasingly abstract, corrupted, and hostile.
The real narrative is your journey downward — facing the unknown, solving subtle spatial puzzles, and surviving a world that clearly wasn't made for humans.
There is no traditional story in DepthLess.
Instead, the experience itself is the story — a wordless descent through isolated architecture, shifting environments, and your own perception.
With every fall, the world becomes more distorted.
There is no narrator, no cutscene. Only space, sound, and your decisions.
**rapidly press R and Spacebar** to move forward.
It might feel tricky at first, but once you get used to it, it becomes much easier!

the controls arent even explained i dont understand what the point of this game is

DepthLess is a strange free first person horror game that is much more interested in atmosphere and movement than giving me a normal story. I am thrown into a surreal world of decaying architecture and have to keep descending through increasingly distorted environments. There is no dialogue, no narrator and no long explanation telling me what everything means. Instead, I am left to work things out from the places I move through, the sounds around me and the creatures that appear along the way. I like that approach because it makes the game feel mysterious without trying too hard to explain itself. The platforming is a big part of the experience. I have to move through unusual spaces, work out how the environment fits together and deal with spatial puzzles as I continue going deeper. Some sections are more about figuring out where I am supposed to go, while others put more pressure on me through the hostile creatures. The movement is deliberately simple, but the strange architecture gives it more character than a normal platforming game. There is also a rather unusual control requirement where I rapidly press R and Spacebar to move forward, which is certainly not something I see in most games. The atmosphere is easily the strongest part for me. The environments become more abstract and corrupted as I progress, and the lack of traditional storytelling makes the whole thing feel isolated. I never really know what is waiting around the next corner, and the grotesque creatures fit the unsettling setting well. I also like that the game does not constantly throw loud scares at me. A lot of the horror comes from simply being somewhere that feels wrong and trying to understand what I am looking at. The biggest weakness is that the lack of explanation can also make the experience feel empty at times. There is no traditional story to follow and no characters for me to become attached to, so everything depends on whether I enjoy exploring the environments and figuring things out for myself. Some of the puzzles are subtle enough that I can spend more time wondering what the game expects from me than actually solving anything. I think that works for the surreal style, but it can also make progress feel unclear. The combat and survival elements are also not the main attraction. The creatures add danger, but the game is much more focused on exploration, platforming and atmosphere than giving me a deep fighting system. That is fine because I do not think every horror game needs to be an action game, but it does mean there is not a huge amount of mechanical variety. Once I understand the basic movement and puzzle ideas, most of what keeps me going is the curiosity about what the next environment will look like. I also appreciate that DepthLess is completely free. For something that costs nothing to try, I think the developer has created a fairly distinctive atmosphere. The Unreal Engine presentation helps the surreal environments look more convincing, and the simple requirements mean it is not trying to be some huge technical showcase. It feels more like an experimental horror project built around a particular mood and idea rather than a massive commercial production, and I think judging it by that standard makes the rougher areas easier to accept. Overall, DepthLess is an interesting little horror experience that I think succeeds mainly because it has its own identity. I like the surreal architecture, strange creatures, wordless storytelling and focus on descending deeper into increasingly unnatural places. The limited combat, unclear progression and lack of a traditional story stop it from reaching the higher ratings I give to more complete horror games, but the atmosphere does a lot of work here. Since it is free, I think it is worth trying when I want something short, strange and different rather than a conventional horror game. Rating: 7.1/10

Title: A promising horror atmosphere held back by unpolished mechanics. Here is some constructive feedback.I really appreciate the eerie horror atmosphere and the core puzzle design of this game. It shows a lot of potential. However, as an indie game looking to grow its player base, the overall progression would feel much better if the difficulty was kept around an easy-to-medium level, making it more accessible and fluid to play.Right now, the mechanic that requires players to rapidly mash the 'R' and 'Spacebar' to move forward is very frustrating and physically tiring to play. It would be a huge improvement if this could be updated to a simple hold action or a well-paced button prompt instead. Navigating through the pitch-black darkness can also become quite a headache. Adding clearer visual cues, alternative paths to explore, and a proper flashlight or better visibility tools would make exploration feel much more rewarding. Lastly, the platforming controls feel a bit slippery, and combined with the heavy screen shaking when falling down, it is very easy to lose progress and have to restart from far back. Tweaking the movement physics to be more stable would definitely prevent players from feeling discouraged.I truly hope the developer considers these updates to improve the user experience. I would love to return and experience the game again once these adjustments are made.
