Department of the Devil

A fun little puzzle game! If you like quirky escape rooms you should enjoy this game. It is quite short (I completed in about a hour) so I recommend getting it on sale if you can.

Cute little game that was well worth the asking price. Puzzles were difficult, but not so much that it became tedious or frustrating. Would have liked to see better punishment if you broke the "rules", versus just being sent to the next day. Art style was fitting for the story and some of the little touches (e.g., music speeding up when the Devil was on his way back) were appreciated. It's like escape room meets musical chairs in a sense. I was able to finish my first play through in roughly an hour, then spent maybe 20 minutes seeing what would happen if I intentionally broke the rules and left the office a mess. 7/10

This is a really cute, interesting take on escape room games. Some puzzles weren't outright obvious though it was pretty simple. For me a lot of the challenge actually came from the time limit, and the fact that the end of the game required you do more in less time. (Speaking vaguely for no spoilers.) At first I was pretty confused as to what the Devil would/would not notice, and some dialogue options seem a bit railroad-y, but even so it was an enjoyable/fun experience.

That was a very enjoyable game. Short and sweet, didn't over stay its welcome. Hope more people play it, it really is a little diamond.

Cool escape room game. Puzzles are difficult enough to make you think a bit. Countdown timer adds a nice extra level of stress when trying to put items away. And do be sure to try to put things back close to you found it. The Devil does not take kindly to out of place things or people out of their seat! I enjoyed playing this game

"Welcome to Hell Sphere 613 of the Oblivion Realm. We are happy to welcome you for your stay in eternal damnation." [b][i]Department of the Devil[/i][/b] is an escape room/puzzle game where you're supposedly trapped in hell for all eternity but try to escape by snooping around the private office of the Devil when he leaves to go grab paperwork. The game is basically played in rounds, and during each round you search for clues and items to solve various puzzles, all in order to be able to summon the Devil's personal key to hell so that you can use it to escape through the gate in the office and thus eternal torture in hell. As you play you have to return everything to its proper place & return to your seat before the Devil returns to the office at the end of each round so that he doesn't catch you for snooping. The puzzles are well done and I feel are just right in terms of difficulty, not too easy but not too hard either, though one's mileage may vary in terms of the difficulty. It took me a little over 2 hours to escape during my first [i]Department of the Devil[/i] playthrough, but exactly how long it takes to escape & beat the game is something that will of course vary from player to player. A real highlight of the game is the banter with the Devil at the beginning of each day (round), which is often quite amusing. To me, the only real con/negative of the game is the severely lacking replayability. As far as I can tell, the only thing that ever changes is the password to the safe, which changes every day (round). Other than that, I've not noticed any changes from playthrough to playthrough, everything else stays the same &/or is in the same place/order. Though you can't view all of the aforementioned banter with the Devil in a single playthrough. Personally, I've enjoyed the game enough that I've played through & beaten it multiple times and have put 5+ hours into it at this point, but I can certainly see the lack of replayability being a complaint & issue for some players. Overall, [i]Department of the Devil[/i] is an entertaining & fun little escape room/puzzle game and I feel that the price is appropriate for what you get out of the game (one's mileage may vary on that though). I most definitely recommend [i]Department of the Devil[/i], especially if you're into escape room &/or puzzle games.

really nice puzzle game! I like the idea of being on a timer that doesn't result in my death (to my knowledge) I think the puzzles were really cool. and the consequence for getting caught aren't too difficult to deal with but still provides an extra layer of annoyance. Kinda short as a game. It took me an hour because I'm slow lol, but would 100% recommend!

If you enjoy escape rooms, you'll enjoy this one. Great concept and although the puzzles were not to difficult, the developer did a great job of not making the solutions stick out like a sore thumb. I really enjoyed the interactions with the devil and the times I had to scramble to put items away and sit down before he returns. The game is short but well worth the time and money. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for any more escape rooms made by this developer.
